AlgaeGirl's Journal, 25 May 2009

So...here I am, back again, ready to face the world with joy and optimism. No, seriously! This is the beginning of my "no negative thoughts" campaign. Originally, I thought I was going down the wrong road...I felt totally guilty for eating junk and then not posting numbers that made me feel bad. To borrow a phrase from one of Ian's favourite comedians: I felt like a failure pile in a sadness bowl.

And that wasn't good. Or healthy. Or helping my attitude.

So I said it's time to stop being chained to the scale and numbers and all of that stuff. It's time to focus on how I feel. Yes, I will continue to weigh in on a fairly regular basis, but not as often as I was. I will continue to record my food choices and exercise as best I can.

I am strong! I am amazing! I am confident!

Here's to new beginnings and happy endings...

Try not to psych up TOO much. I find that being neither very down or very up about my weight has helped me tremendously. I am trying to focus on the process more than the result. I need the Kcal count everyday. That is the process. The weight loss is a byproduct. Do you have a goal you want to achieve other than losing the weight? Mine is this bike tour I have coming up in the fall. I am going to ride the Skyline Drive and Blueridge Parkaway (575 miles) with my son. I need to be under 200 to make this easier. The goal of completing this trip is keeping me focused. Keep the positive attitude and stay focused on the little things that turn into big things. Best

awww, sweetie, I am so proud of you. You deserve to be happy. You know how to eat healthy and lose weight. Dont beat yourself up if you dont do it perfectly. I have been there. It actually hinders your weightloss efforts. There's not such thing as perfect. To take a quote from a good from of mine of FS, "Progress, not perfection, is what counts!"
