"I have to remind myself that we live in a fallen world and that nothing is going to be perfect here. Everything is slightly askew.....When we become more comfortable with the imperfections in life, not only are we not so easily thrown by defects as they hop into view, but we discover more about ourselves....There's something about loss that has the potential to take us by the hand and help us find a way to survive outside the context of our pain....Don't allow crusty old frogs along your path to throw you. Butterflies are just around the corner."

God, help me not be discouraged by the "petrified frogs" in my life. Give me an eternal perspective on my circumstances today, knowing that nothing is going to be perfect until Heaven. Amen.

As I had succumbed to temptation, I am so glad that I have a God that forgives, lifts me up, dusts off my down-trodden spirit, encourages me to give it another go. He's like a father teaching his child to ride a bike....always encouraging me to keep trying. God is so good. All the time.
