Katsolo's Journal, 18 July 2021

Just because I'm not sitting at the computer doesn't mean I'm not thinking about stuff in my squirrel on crack brain. That said, I think I reached peak procrastination yesterday when I decided to clean under the fridge and hit the coils with compressed air rather than going into my office. Finished up towards 10:45pm, but prior to that I made a nice dinner with a pale ale after cocktail plans got scuttled by a weird rain and crowds. Yes, rain. So strange. We're going Thursday now, which is better for me anyways as I should be done with this project that morning. I turned in my deliverable, got virtually no comments, so it was good. Shorter walk because of the threat of showers, but great sunset. Didn't sleep well last night because I was watching what I think was sheet lightning to the south of us up well past midnight.

It's humid again today, all the fans are on. I should probably clean the coils on the house AC at some point because if this year ends up like the last one with cloudy days into July, it means a long humid summer with no onshore breeze to cool things off. curly hair will prevail. Ugh. also need to order blinds for all the windows on the south side because new neighbor is sitting out on the patio in the dark pretty late at night and I'm pretty sure he can see straight into my bedroom from there. f that dude, not acceptable.

We have tentative plans to go out to the Gillespie field air museum today, it'll be hotter out there. We'll see. I have got to get back on track with the actual swimming. Between visitors using the pool and work, I've hardly gotten in at all myself. Heat will change that. Funny how that works.

I can remember my squirrel-on-crack brain existence. Never did figure out work/life balance until I eliminated the work part. Have a great Sunday Kat !!

Great meal and sunset. Cleaning stuff is useful but it’s also pretty therapeutic to me. Enjoy what’s left of Sunday!

That looks GREAT. Sometimes I'm just mystified why people post pics of food that looks like punishment. Your diet doesn't have to be punishment.

I pay for the company that installed my A/C and furnace a few years ago to come out twice a year to make sure everything is running okay. I also had an air filtration system installed at the same time. I have no idea how to install the filer or the light bulbs that are needed. It seems a little pricey, but my A/C runs 24/7 for about 3 to 4 months a year. It was running last night at 3am. I had neighbors that were on their deck until really late at night and they have a clear view of my deck and all the back windows. I put up a pine tree for a little privacy. New neighbors aren't outside nearly as much. I know you've mentioned where you live, I thought you were in Northern California like me - but we don't get any humidity where I am.

Wow, Katsolo we were in a thunderstorm early this morning in the mountains. The rain stopped, but not the thundering, and yes my hair was standing end. To describe my hair, you need a big frocabulary!🤪

Shrewd, we flew off the freeway at speed into the scrub this afternoon when a torrential downpour came pouring down the mountain on the freeway. Somehow, by the grace of God, we missed all the turns and cliffs and granite walls and found the only patch of sandy soil and scrub and missed the utility pole by a few feet. Thankful to be alive, thankful to be without any apparent injuries. Car is at the shop to be checked out as we hydroplaned across two lanes of freeway traffic and about 30 yards into the brush. Heck of a day. Seriously glad to be alive.

Wow, Katsolo that is so SCARY!!😮😮😮😮 I was worried about the bikes getting wet and here you are in a submarine!!!😧 I hope the car is OK. 🙁 That happened to my husband once coming home, a 20 minute drive took way over 2 hours as all the cars were being flooded up to the doors. If it helps any our car was OK. Glad you’re OK, I would miss you!💕

Yeah, I needed to swim and walk to chill out. BF has called me four times checking in. I didn't scream, didn't freak out, I think that's what might be freaking him out. Just nuts. I did get some great pics of the massive thunderstorm up until then but my phone went flying with the impact. Could have been way worse. We weren't the only ones flying off the road either, it was a total downpour. I'm probably going to bed soon. Not sure if I'll be sore or not. No airbags, so hoping it'll just be a regular day tomorrow.
