Worked out, got to the gym late. Only got a 45 minute mini-back workout and about 20 minutes cardio. I'm working on getting out of the house earlier this week.

Only ??? sounds like in a regular schedule...that's a great day at the gym! Rome wasn't built in a day, right? Good Job!

Thank you JSFan, I am just a little fustrated with myself this week because I have to get my timing down: getting out of bed, leaving the house to get to the gym, allowing enough time to get my workout in and then to the office on time. It was a good workout in hind sight!

That's awesome! and good to look ahead to the scheduling conflicts that can try to derail us. Sometimes, you just simply have to be committed to your commitments! If you managed an hour today...then manage another hour tomorrow...it all adds up!!! Great Job!

You are so right! I workout in the mornings because I have to tend to my son's activities in the evening after work. I strugle with being organized and keeping my commitments to myself. I appreciate your words of wisdom and encouragement!!

There are soooo many great resources on the web to find even 10 - 20 min workouts that are EFFECTIVE...so never let time be the thing that stops you. Rotate some of your workouts to home and in the living room if you have to...nothing wrong w/ that. Just try to stay w/in one day ahead...problem solve for tomorrow's workout...at the gym or at home...and worry about Sat on Fri... worry about Mon's schedule on Sunday, etc... BTW, do you alternate upper body, lower body...and do you take any weight bearing days 'off' ??? just curious...

I train with a body builder type 4 day split, shoulders and modified legs together, back and biceps, chest triceps, then a full leg day with core work. Some weeks I'll mix it up with plyometics. I'm big on taking rest days, I feel like I get stronger when I take them. My problem is that the holidays got me off schedule, then we had a week long snow ordeal down here in Atlanta. So I feel like I'm having a lot of false starts! I just need to be more organized, I have to get back into my good workout grove. I used to be the queen of workouts at home, but now that I'm bodybuilding I prefer to workout at the gym. You are right working out at home is awesome!! I'm training to get the fitness girl look (I'm fairly close) and I might actually compete at some point.

I forgot to mention that I get smaller in size the more I weight train, not bigger. I have lost countless inches but I only lost about 15 lbs total in weight over the past few months. I must have put on at least 3-4 lbs of muscle. I look totally different! I'm currently working on leaning out now, getting my body fat percentage lower so we can see my hard earned muscle. I've gone from a size 14 to about a size 10, but you wouldn't know it by the numbers on the scale.

how tall are you? I am 5'7" so I can relate. I am happier at a smaller size weight wise, and being toned...but don't really care if it's all 'defined' too much (I'm 47) and not out to impress anyone but my husband! LOL!! And he's already thoroughly impressed!! Sounds like a great schedule though...and a great goal - good luck if you decide to compete!

I'm 6' tall. I really can't go below 160 pounds without people thinking I'm ill or on drugs!! lol I'm 48, I'll be 49 in July! No one believes me when I tell them my age. :-) Right now I'm toned, I want to get to "buffed", which is a little leaner. I just love working out, I always have, I just allowed life to get between me and my workouts. I'm not doing that ever again!
