I'm feeling a bit discouraged and achy. I worked out today. Perhaps I am getting back into the exercise routine that I had started a while back. Things got lax when Jas was sick, a couple times when I was really depressed, and also when got hurt doing squats. I feel achy today in part from yesterday's leg presses. I did one set (12 reps) at 150lb and the next two at 140lb. On top of that I did seated rows and attempted wide angle pull ups. (When I do it, they aren't pull ups, they're let downs.) I managed to do 6 before my arms had no resistance left in them and my weight would cause me to just drop straight down. So I fell kind of like I was drawn on a rack, but it's not such a bad feeling. The discouragement comes more from the aimlessness I tend to feel this time of night. I overate at dinner. Most of what I ate was salad, but calories are calories. Salad is a better source of calories than junk food, juice, or simple starches like bread, but too many calories is still going to put on weight regardless of where they come from.

Sorry that you are feeling a bit discouraged....we have certainly all been there. But look at how well you did over the holidays. You didn't gain anything, and at least when you over ate, it was healthy foods. Tomorrow will be better. {{{HUGS}}}

Ct.... :-D Thanks! It's good to hear encouragement. Sometimes it is too easy to lose sight of the long term in favor of the temporary such that looking back things seem so silly. ('This is so normal. I am not doomed to fail. I have been making progress, so why did I ever work myself up that much?' etc.,) The immediate moment just has a way of making itself seem so much bigger than it is; it's good to be reminded how normal things are and how much hope we can have in spite of how present circumstances may appear. {Hugs back at you. :) }
