TERRIBLE leg cramps all night long..I was in tears!! I am going to start to take the magnesium, potassium and calcium supplements today. I increased my water intake yesterday dramatically and found myself running to the restroom all day at work and all night.I know my job has alot to do with this, but I know I need the supplements too because of the lack of fruit intake.

I go through the same thing. Cramps so bad they leave my legs sore the next day. Potassium supplements help alot! Good luck.

Good potassium source is Nu-Salt or No- Salt found it in grocery store for about $2.50 small salt shaker size.

JFI: Drinking a lot of water can also lead to potassium deficiency. So it's good to take a supplement.

A low carb diet flushes water and sodium from your body. You are most likely sodium depleted. Try drinking 2 cups of broth each day or 1/2 tsp of salt sprinkled on your foods. This in addition to drinking enough fluids and taking your supplements should do the trick.

Thank you all for your comments and advice....I bought the Potassium supplements today...FYI...Walgreens has a big bottle of 300 (natures Finest) for $10.50) and I will have some broth tonight for my snack time. I have aleays had problems with legs cramps from my job (standing for 9 hours a day) and a medical condition (surgery on the viens twice) but last night was the worst ever!!

Magnesium helps relax muscles but if you take it be sure to take a chelated form. One ending in -ate. Chelated magnesium is better absorbed by your body. Magnesium oxide is in most supplements because it's cheap, but it just isn't well absorbed. A Epsom salt bath is another good way to get magnesium.

mine says magnesium strarate. On the front of the bottle it says high potentcy magnesium 500mg. When I take that and potassium about 2 hors before bed I dont have cramps.
