alicola's Journal, 03 January 2009

Well I sure have been off track in the last few weeks. My diet has taken a back seat to everything! But the hussle and bussle of the holidays are over now and I'll be getting back on track in a few days. I figured I'd wait til after my birthday which is just a few days away. I'm probably being too easy on myself which is why I haven't been all that successful with loosing weight to begin with. I really promise to try very hard starting the 8th of Jan. Thanks everybody~and have a happy New Year!

Why not get back on track right now and allow yourself to splurge a bit on your birthday? You'll have several days head start over where you'll be if you wait. I know it's hard and you know I've been going through the same holiday malfunctions but there will always be another dinner out or party or holiday on the horizon. It would be so easy to put on another couple of pounds between now and your birthday. Don't let it happen! Getting on track now will also set your mind up to possibly "behave" better when you actually celebrate your birthday, too. Instead of "what does it matter, I've already done so poorly already?", you can say "why do I want to erase all my hard work with that second piece of cake?". Think about it, anyway :D

As always, evelyn64 has excellent advice! If you get back into the swing of things now, with the healthy eating and exercise, you'll be able to have that birthday treat with no guilt! Your metabolism will be all revved up and ready to zap any extra calories! :) zzzzt!

I agree with Evelyn and Amy! Why put it off for tomorrow when you can do it today? That way you will have worked hard for your birthday splurge! It'll be that much nicer.

Good advice there! We all got a little off track with the holidays- how could we not?! Go for it now and then enjoy the birthday! Have a great start to your new year.
