Doing well. Just bloated this morning. I know what works and what doesn't on this diet and I didn't fast or follow it closely like I usually do so I had a bit of a gain. I would've lost this morning but I really have an upset stomach...I've been constipated a lot this week with some blood there - a lot one morning - could be hemorrhoids or a fissure from straining a female friend told me as she had one. I'm going to have a colonoscopy as my P.A. thinks its a good idea. There may be polyps that have to be removed so I have to have it done. I don't want it but will have it my dad said he'd take me. I ate tons of nuts this week so it took me off of induction obviously.This week I'll have lots of salad as I bought spinach greens at half-price lots of them and I'll put olive oil and low sodium salt on them. My potassium was low when blood was checked! I bought salt with low sodium and potassium added I hope it helps a bit. Everyone check my potassium post from months ago. Even I forgot to get enough potassium-rich foods in my diet so I'll be sure to do that. It is an extreme danger on Atkins as it can cause cardiac issues with low potassium levels!!! I'll be more careful as I know what does and doesn't work on Atkins. I'll try to walk more too. I didn't fast this week so in the next week I'll definitely try to get that in. There's no way I'm letting one down week let me get upset. My stomach just isn't digesting regularly. glenn - P.S. I'm fairly certain my pain med that is making the arthritis manageable is causing me to have the stomach issues -(constipation) - it's common on that med - but it works so I'll have to adjust and eat more foods that'll keep me feeling better...
198.4 lb Lost so far: 24.6 lb.    Still to go: 3.4 lb.    Diet followed poorly.

I have found a couple of things that work for constipation. Magnesium can work quite well...you just have to take it in the evening or before bed. If you take it in the morning it just doesn't work. I have also used Miralax. It can be a little pricey compared to other laxatives but it works much better. It works more natually by bringing water into the colon and it doesn't cause you to have to "run," if you know what I mean. :) Hope one of these work for you. Also make sure that you drink lots of water!

The psyllium husks (not sure if I spelled that right!) works best for me if I have those issues. And its all natural. Good luck getting it figured out. And I agree - you need to go to the doctor!

Thanks for the ideas- I have Milk of Magnesia and bought generic Metamucil sugar-free yesterday evening. I'll buy some Miralax on Tuesday. I'm on a strong pain med that causes problems. I already saw the physician's assistant yesterday. He's getting a colonoscopy ordered ASAP. I know on Atkins it can be difficult getting enough fiber too. Tomorrow I'm going to try and do a liquid fast if I don't have the headache I've got now... :)
