Sandy701's Journal, 08 October 2010

OK, cyber-confetti please....I've reached my halfway mark, 45 pounds gone! And I've done it ahead of an intermediate goal to drop it by Halloween.

It has taken 6 months and slightly under 2 weeks to get here. I can now begin to project when I might reach goal...maybe sometime in summer next year, as it will undoubtedly take me longer to lose the second half than the first. I have some IDs that need renewal next spring/summer, so who knows....when I renew them, I might actually weigh what the IDs say I weigh - or maybe even less! This entire journey is taking a lot longer than I anticipated, but then again, I never quite believed, in my heart of hearts, that I could do this.

I may just have to buy myself a big bouquet of flowers!

ADDED LATER: I almost forgot to log my walking...3.5 miles today bringing the weekly challenge total to 17.1 miles and the total challenge miles to date comes to 33.6 miles and I'm not even thru the first 2 weeks of the 50-miles-in-30-days challenge.

Had a disappointment, though, in that I timed the last 2 miles (done without doggies)and it took me almost the full hour! That's only 2 mph, not my usual 3 mph. I can only guess that when I tweeked my hip yesterday and had to slow my pace a bit to ease the pain, I must have somehow carried that pace into today. Oh well, I adjusted my exercise diary to the lower rate and will time at least a portion of my walk tomorrow to see if I can get back to normal.

FF...It sure doesn't feel like "quickly," but I guess it's all about perspective. One gal on here (sorry, I forgot who...) has a great saying posted, something like as long as you're facing the right direction, it's just one foot in front of the other, one step at a time. Just keep thinking that and the time will fly by and you'll hit your goals too. Myree...feels fantastic - and a bit overwhelming. Thanks for all your encouragement. KK...I feel that confetti, thanks! Laurie, not sure I'll make the "final" goal ahead of time. Come to think of it, I've never projected a final date!! I've only projected a date getting me 2/3rds of the way there by 2/1/2100. Do I dare come up with a final date yet???? Hmmmmm. Keli, good to see you back from CA. Hope DH is still doing well. Thanks for the well wishes. Maybe you could start a whole new exercise trend: "Back-Flippin' Down the Scale." I can see the DVD on QVC already. Thanks all - the support on this site is awesome!!!

Actually, that 2/3rds date is 2/1/2011, not 2100!!!! LOL!!!

Sorry to hear you hurt your hip. Rest this week-end and hopefully it will let you do your 3mph instead of 2. Have a great week-end.:)
