Ok, so the definition of insanity is to keep doing what you are doing and expect different results, right? So I'm either an eternally optimistic person or I'm insane. Time to try something new. I can't eat any less than I do, so I'm going to see what happens when I work out every day. It's pretty hit or miss right now, I'm going to dedicate myself to it for two weeks. Gym+hiking will keep me busy! I can find a million excuses to not work out, but that has to change.

I know many people look at my food chart and think that it is just a matter of time, and I will lose the weight. I thought that too, for the first two months, but it's been many months that I have been around this weight, and I don't think that time is the answer. It has something to do with my metabolism, so that's what I need to work on changing.
194.0 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 30.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Is that the definition of insanity or is that was makes you insane:-) I looked at your calorie intake and I personally would go batty if I didn't lose weith doing as well as you are. I am so sorry you are hitting that stall. I hear your frustruation. I just added the gym workout. Today was tough but I did it. BUT, I am now losing fairly consistantly. I hope it works for you, I hike and walk and it was just not doing enough. Now I am trying to work up to an hour of cardio 5 days a week. I think you are on to something. I hope it goes well!!!!!

Ok, off I go to the trail...I've been slacking on the hiking and I love it! What's wrong with me???

Another thing that might help, when you do get to the gym, log it in your exercise, i didn't use to do that. I don't log my hikes or walks, but I do log my cardio. I LOVE seeing that I burned an extra 400-600 in a day. Whoot, that is a LOT of calories. It helps me stay motivated because that adds an extra pound loss a week if ya can keep it up.

I know I mentioned this before and you disagreed...and I do recognize you are doing a high fat ketogenic diet...I just know I cannot lose weight when eating so many fat grams daily. I feel compassion that you are so stuck...what if you alternated the fats - one day high and one day a bit lower? You are doing fantastic with the low carb!
