Elixaveth's Journal, 17 August 2010

I'm tired of trying some low carb diet and then bouncing back. As I shared before, I'm getting married in December of 2011 and I plan on looking goooooood so I decided to have weight loss surgery since I'm at least 120 lbs overweight. When getting some supplements like collagen etc at a nature store the lady mentioned HCG. I thought, oh no, one more person who wants to talk me out of surgery. She said she just wanted to mention it since I was concerned about sagging skin and you don't have that problem with HCG, plus you lose at the same rate of weightloss surgery and don't have to go under the knife and it's natural. I looked it up and a few days latter visited a hormone therapy doc in my town, he called in my prescription to some pharmacy in Florida and I got sublingual tablets in the mail last Friday. I did my loading days and today is day 1 on the 500 calorie. This is my last attempt before surgery, I'm also doing this for my family since no one wants me to have surgery.

Hi Elixaveth :) Nice to meet you! I'm a first timer too. I'm in my 3rd week and I know what you mean when you say you don't want to mess up! lol! Here's what I've learned so far... stick to the protocol. Read it and re-read it over and over. Weigh your meat raw. Take your multi vitamins. Whenever you feel like cheating or deviating from the meal plan, ask yourself, "Do I want to lose this weight or not?" You can do this, we're all here for you ;0)

You did the right thing in my humble opinion. The protocol works as well as or better than the surgery from all the people I know who have done it and it is an added bonus that it is only temporary. The diet is not a forever thing and it DOES repair your metabolism, not just provide a surgical fix that really does not address the underlying problem we have with our relationship to FOOD!
