What is it about the 190s that my body likes so much? Even just 10 lbs would make me happy right now. I'm not sure how I can eat super low carb and under 1500 calories and not lose weight. Oh well, I'll just keep at it. One thing I know, I feel a million times better eating like this.

Another beautiful hike yesterday. We are having spectacular weather in Phoenix, how can I not be outdoors in this? The gym can wait, I love my hikes. I pushed it a lot harder yesterday, went up a very steep trail that even my dog had a little trouble with. So exhilarating to get to the top and see the whole Valley spread out below. My heart was really pumping! I think it is in my profile, but almost 2 years ago I had a knee replacement, and I wasn't sure if I'd ever be able to do "steep" again. I use trekker poles to help me balance and transfer some of the weight from my knees to my arms, which make all the difference, especially going down. I probably look like a dork, but I don't care. And Erin, if you are reading this, yes, I'd like to go in the morning. We don't have to do the steep one!

Keep it up! You'll need those skills if you come visit me. I'll show you some great hiking here in Ohio. And the poles are *not* dorky. I want some!!

I resisted trekker poles for too long because I thought they looked dorky too. I've logged lots of miles with mine now and kick myself for going so long with out just because looked dorky. They're the best. If anyboddy else is thinking about getting pole check out Steep & Cheap. You'll get a great deal if your patient. BTY my hike was 31 and frosty this am in WA...I'm envious.

I lived in Colorado years ago and always saw people with the poles, serious trainers! And they were expensive, do I associated them with the pros. now you're a pro in training :-) about the weight, when I was on a roll, I HAD to go under 1500 to loose, but I'm very short and didn't work out much. if I work out 1500 is ok, play with the number, what works for you.

I love my poles, they make it possible for me to hike where I otherwise couldn't. Kim, I'll be packing the poles when I come visit you.
