Upset with the scale...and myself this morning. Gained a pound. This is my 9th week on program and have followed it to perfection. But this weekend I had a piece of ice cream birthday cake. Didn't think I would gain from that, AND I was totally depressed after I ate it. Just wasn't worth my first cheat. My husband gives himself one day a week (usually Saturday) to indulge, and he is still lossing 2 lbs a week. Dang this post-menopausal body of mine. MUST DRINK MORE WATER!!!

I hear your pain...and share some of it. I have never struggled so hard to lose weight as I have this time. But, I am improving my overall health, even if it doesn't show on the scale...at least that is what I tell myself! Hang in there. Your health is worth it. :)

But on the other hand you have lost 19 pounds!!!! Congrats. That is 19 pounds you don't have to lose again. Think of it in these terms. 19 bricks of butter, or two bags of potatoes. Go lift those two bags at the grocery store and that is how much less weight you are carrying around. We all have days when we have a weak moment. Don't let it deter you, stay the course, you are doing great.

I think that if it's causing us depression (Which it def does might I add) part of me wonders if this isn't kind of hurting us as well. I mean we live our lives according to the scales and our mood is totally dependant on it. That being said I completely feel your pain. I ate carrots which is meant to be on the later rung and kept eatings a few carrots which has halted my ketosis, and stalled my weight loss. If you like, friend up with me and let's get thru this :)

Low carb diets make your body lose water. Carbs make your body retain water. When you are on a low carb diet and eat more carbs, it can show on the scale. It's the sucky thing about low carb diets. As you start to maintain, you will slowly need to add carbs back in. Just stick with it and it will come again.
