Hi. I'm 297lb just starting again my journey. But from what I know you doing this incorrect. 1200 is way to little for you. I'm at 1,800 feeling good and full. Please do some research. I'm doing the carb cycle program

I do 1200 every other day. It sucks a lot sometimes. Gets a bit better after time. I do not crave the fried foods at all anymore and only the sugar a little.

How do you determine how many calories a person should eat in a day? I'm at 1,000 or below - trying to lose just 5 lbs for past year and am not at all successful. At age 62, 5'2" and 119 lbs... those five pounds have been a struggle!! My exercise regiment indicates more calories burned than consumed but weight loss just not happening. Do I need to chalk it up to old age? Thoughts?

Maybe try intermittent fasting if you aren't already doing it. I fast for 16 hours each day and have an 8 hour period of eating, usually between 6am until 2pm.

I was having a tough go for a little bit even with low calorie intake, but I started doing intermittent fasting(16 hours with no calories, and 8 hours to eat) and it's working for me. I started drinking black coffee instead of adding milk in it so that I could drink it while in my fasting stage. Lots of water too, it helps keep my feeling less hungry. I'm losing almost 1/2 pound a day now.

I found that eating too few calories can throw your body into starvation mode. U have to find your bmr "basal metabolic rate". It will consider your age weight height and activity level. Then tell you how many calories u should be eating a day.

why not try 1 or 1/2 slice bread; sparkling flavored water instead of pop--think of it as a treat; green tea a fatburner--use stevia, not sugar; no added salt; drink lemon water--lemon acts as catalyst for burning fat; up ur protein. Hope this helps. Its what i know from research. I'm ur age...much success to us both!!
