Thanks 😊 I haven't used anything cardio yet except the treadmill. I watch women's UFC while listening to my playlist!

@Tlschwenn Damn fine job! Treadmill is really the only machine I like to use in the gym. earbuds in, music turned up, and just zen out until the timer rings. One of the most effective, if not the most, at burning calories (walking of any form that is). PF is in my future come the winter months. Thanks for the inspiration!

I go to PF too. It's been the best thing I have done for myself in years. I warmup on the treadmill then onto resistance training. By the time I leave the gym I'm so done and good for a couple of days...

I go there too! 😊 I use the stairs after the treadmill warm up. Those things have your legs shaking when you’re done! 😂

I just signed up with Planet Fitness 2 weeks ago. I have done the stairs. It kills me to do 10 minutes. The trainor recommended 15 minutes. I am out of shape and have to work my way up to that.

What the some of the trainers recommend is ridiculous I think. My first time in, last time we were members, was 50 squats etc..... A HUGE amount of reps for someone that never went to the gym! BUT I did them and couldn't hardly move for 3-4 days. Start slow with what you're able to do comfortably 😉 and work your way up!

Well, I sound like a broken record, and this is just my opinion but Body by Science (Doug McGuff, MD) will open your eyes about weightlifting, the number reps, the number of sets, and the amount of rest that is needed between trips to the gym. I am sorry to say that 50 squats (is that with a bar??) is ridiculous. Deep muscle fatigue (which is what you're looking for) can be accomplished with far fewer reps, and when done on a machine (seated leg press, which Planet Fitness has) can be done with a much, much, reduced chance of injury. I cannot imagine that you need to be in the gym more than once a week, for about 30 minutes to accomplish the deep muscle fatigue that you need. I know that sounds incredible, but do your research, read the book, and then you can decide for yourself. (I have some videos of McGuff and his clients, men and women, working out.) Still, you're doing great! All the best!!

Nice job on that treadmill! I like doing the random hill program on the treadmill to keep it from being so boring.
