Diea's Journal, 13 March 2018

Today, I start some serious weight loss. My sister-in-law (to-be, because I'm engaged to her brother) is getting married in the Caribbean this July. It's going to be at this beautiful island called Roatan, where everyone speaks English. I want to get as close to a beach bod as I can!

So, I want to start being very strict with my calories. I want to try what worked before because it got me to lose 2 pounds a week, consistently. It's pretty strict, but it's doable:

-8 cups of water by lunch
-8 minutes strength training immediately after waking up
-breakfast one hour after waking up
-meals consist of a "balanced" plate: 1/2 fruits or vegetables, 1/4 complex carbs, 1/4 lean or vegan protein
-meals or snacks every 3 hours (i.e., breakfast at 9am, lunch at 12pm, snack at 3pm, dinner at 6pm)
-8 hours of sleep every night, no more, no less
-30 minutes of exercise in the afternoon / evening
-one cheat meal a week
-weigh in once a week, same day, same time
-plus a new one: automated meals M-F so I don't get off track because of work (which means meal prepping on Sundays)

If I can meet my immediate weight loss goal by the wedding, I will be sooooooo happy! It's 15 pounds, which is basically what I gained during grad school.

Let's do this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, the are, Steven! Just thinking about being on a clear blue-green ocean, and stepping on white, soft sand, is a GREAT motivator.
