Jill-gill's Journal, 01 April 2010

Well its a beautiful day today if a bit chilly and the last day of school. Am looking forward to the holidays - going to do lots of nice things and days out and not let the holiday revolve around food. EAT TO LIVE NOT LIVE TO EAT. Words of a wise person.
Anyway I am feeling renewed in spirit now, I've had an odd week, I've kinda been on the verge of eating chocolate, never actually really considering it.. Its just been on my mind alot and its annoying because its not actually craving it , its just because its EVERYWHERE! Damn easter isn't about ruddy easter eggs and bunnies anyway - how did they get the monopoly on it. Do people forget that its about the Son of God! Anyway - I am not falling into the trap and have decided that my little treat this weekend is going to be a couple of gins! I am not sucumming to the whole ' have a day off mentality ' - yes nice at the time , but not nice on weigh in wednesday. My road is almost half way ventured and I am feeling the success of it in my heart , my clothes and my life - Sugar will not beat me.....

Are you on what we would call "spring break"??? Hope you are able to get out and find lots of new stuff to do!!! I can totally relate to the thoughts about something you really don't want...lately I have been thinking about all things "crunchy". I guess I am missing that. I don't really have cravings for anything in particular. Just thoughts about them. Weird. Well, Happy Easter - and enjoy your holiday! :)

I don't drink so I am gonna have 1/4 of a sugar free Russell Stover Sugar Free Chocolate Bunny. You should have seen me at the tore when I got the last ugar free bunny from the last sugar free box they had. LOL! You would have thought I was 4 years old! The whole thing is 2 net carbs, but I'm having just 1/4 cause I gave up even my protein bars for lent and I have to have a little treat. So .5 net carbs it is! I ued to give up sweets but this year, I starting low carbing on Jan. 19, 2010 so it would have be a lie to give up sweets since I had already given them up. So I settled for protein bars. I am a silly Easter rabbit!

Jill, have you tried Atkins chocolate shakes? These can help curb sweet cravings. You can do this! You can painlessly say NO!

I have looked at the shakes but we have to order them online in the uk and I resent the extortionate postage price and have never got round to ordering them!

I just ordered some canned pumpkin from amazon. It was quite reasonable and no shipping costs if you take the 5-9 business day route.

Don't give up, you've come this far, you don't need to eat something that will be tasty just for a moment, but will mess you up indefinitely. Those who advise sugar free chocolate, are not helping with the addiction part of being overweight. Once you can say no, you've beat the addiction. I will try and get you some information on the shakes, as far as shipping to the UK. I use EAS, they are cheaper, lower in carbs and fat. Jill, think about your actions, don't lower yourself and cheat, don't cave by telling yourself it's just one bite, all you'd really be telling yourself is "all that work for NOTHING". Be free of the thought...you have given up so many other addictions, you can handle this one too...don't give in. Don't fall into the sugar free pit fall; you'll be asking for trouble.
