Looking at my weight and realizing I need to lose almost an ENTIRE PERSON to be in the healthy range again is nuts. I was 108 when I graduated high school, 20 years later I'm almost exactly three times that. I might weigh in tomorrow, just to see how things are going with this low carb diet. I have to be honest with myself and realize that even eating a vegetarian diet I snack too much on unhealthy things. Doing some research on Keto when vegetarian to see if maybe that would be a good eating habit to get to. Bought my dog a stroller today so we can go walking together, since no dogs are allowed at my local park and I feel anxious about walking alone, this way I can walk and have her with me :) I guess that makes me a crazy chihuahua lady.

totally with you on that realization......I started out needing to lose the equivalent of a full grown healthy woman (and a pretty tall one at that!!). My non scale victory today:. I am no longer considered morbidly obese!!!! I'm just obese......class 2!! whoo hoo rocking the keto lifestyle for 7 months now. AND I had cake today - low carb - no sugar and it was deeeeelish.

When I started, I was overwhelmed at the amount I had to lose. I am still. But I also know that I can do it, and so can you!! I have to lose at least 2 people to be healthy, and its going to take time, but I know that I can because I have the support of so many people who are cheering me on and believing in me. I believe in you. Together, we can do this!!

Lynne, I don't look at it like I have to be skinny. I just want to be healthy. I started out at 279. I'm at 216 right now. My goal is 175. If I want to go further, I will. I'll see as I go. I'm taking it a little at a time because, like you, the big number looks so intimidating. Something that helped me was a saying I wrote down in my book on my WI page: "I can't lose 100 lbs but I CAN lose 10 lbs 10 times." I marked off each ten pounds loss. And also wrote a row of numbers and put a check mark beside each as I lost it...goodbye 270s, goodbye 260s, 250s...etc. it was great seeing that I'd accomplished something and knowing I'm not going back there again. Don't give up! I think you're doing great!❤

Thank you all so much!!! I'm trying to set tiny goals, like losing 10 pounds, to keep myself on track and not feel as overwhelemed. I am so grateful to all of you for reaching out to support me, especially when I don't have a lot of support here at home. You all are wonderful!

Search Gary Taubes on YouTube. Watching him talk about the science of weight gain and weight loss helps inspire me.
