Johanne's Journal, 21 May 2012

It's Monday. What a gorgeous day it is. The temps are in the mid 70s and my plants are growing like gangbusters. I WANT TOMATOES, DARN IT!!! All I have is blossoms. LOL!

We sheared the alpacas yesterday. They're so funny. Most of them were very resigned to the whole process. The biggest one cried the whole time. They're so darned cute, our mini-camels.

I'm trying to get a lot of work done today . . . just plugging along. I would rather be sitting outside, but, oh well. The inside isn't going to do itself! Maybe I can sit outside this evening if I get enough done.

I hate missing Lilies. I'm resigned to it, but hate it all the same. I have to remember, it will come around next year, and hopefully, I will be in better shape to enjoy it.

Later all.

Bonnie, sure hope you got the chance to go outside and enjoy yesterday's weather a bit. Glad you got the alpacas sheared and now have a bunch of wool to spin. Have a great day, and know that I love you, my friend...and yes, Lilies will be here next year, and by then you will be completely healed and ready to take on the world! HUGS!

Triaby, the only outside time I got was taking the trash around to the curb. I did get a lot accomplished inside though, so that was a good thing. Hugs!

Bren, if the blossoms are any indication, when I DO finally get tomatoes, there should be a lot on those two plants. Love you back!

Stef, I've decided I'm going to get new tubs for Lilies and start packing for next year now. I don't use most of the stuff that has to go, except for Lilies, and I can throw sachets in with the camp clothes to keep them fresh. The rest of the camp gear, including the coolers, just needs to be freshened and organized. By next year, all I'll have to do is throw it all in the car and I'll be ready to schlep. LOL! As for wool to spin, my DIL has a literal warehouse full of Icelandic and paca. She sells a lot of it, but there's still plenty for spinning and felting . . . more than WE could ever use. I'm so happy that you are my friend. I love you too! I feel like I've known you forever.

Heather, the weather is going to get very hot, very quickly, but the mornings are still blissful. I sat out on my swing and enjoyed the sun with my coffee this morning. Now I'm back in and hustling (for me . . . LOL!) on the house. You would love the pacas. They're not as friendly as they would have you believe, but they are so funny to watch and listen to. They have a whole language. Have a wonderful day my gorgeous friend!
