Let's see.
<br\>
Did a 5k yesterday. I had two goal times - one I've been trying to hit for years, and one that I was hoping to hit, and I got the first, but not the second. Overall I feel good about the run. I now have a 10k coming up at the end of May.....lots of work to do to get there. The good thing is, I'm starting to feel more confident about my running. The bad thing is, because I'm still pretty slow, I get a little frustrated with my speed from time to time. But I am determined to get better, faster, longer, stronger (I sense a Kanye West song here...)

I'm changing my weigh-in day. I've been doing it weekly on Sunday and it seems like I eat a little more on Fridays and Saturdays, so I'm thinking this isn't the best day for my once a week tracking. I'm going to try it on Thursdays for a while - hopefully I am able to still stay on track on the weekends. I don't want this change to trigger something in my brain that says I have the freedom to go nuts indulging.

Two more weeks of evening coaching. Whew! I am so ready to be done with this. I'll have time in the evenings to do laundry and run and lay out by the pool and see my friends (gasp!) and go to bed early. I can't wait. I really care about my kids, but I'm so overextended. Twice this weekened I had people comment on how busy I am. Partially, I need it. I focus better when I'm better, but I am looking forward to pulling back at least some.

I'm on the cusp of going down to the next size - and I really want to be there. Here's to making the next big push! :)

good golly, young miss ... awesome job on running a 5K ... and now onto the 10K! Amazing. I can't run them ... not everyone can ... so that is fantastic! I wouldn't worry about whether you are fast or slow ... the more you do, the better it will be ... and the times will reflect that. You can push on through down a size! that is an awesome feeling ... and is really motivating internally ... to get to the next-next size down!

I noticed your picture crossing the finish line at the Rattlesnake Triathlon; Colorado? Years! How long have you been running? Did you do the Sprint or the Olympic? Are you the coachee or the coacher, and what kind of coaching? Great job on the 5K!

Let's see....<br\> @bre - Thanks for the encouragement :) It's been a long battle - but so far this is the best I've ever run. In the past when I get to about 3 months of consistent running, I burn out, take a break, and have to re-start over whenever I pick it up again. I'm really trying to not let that happen again. This last week was not great in terms of eating well, so back on track with that, and hopefully into the smaller size at least by the end of this month. :D <br\> @ DK - That Rattlesnake was a few years ago, sprint only. (Um - I kinda hate the bike ride at Aurora, so hilly!) I've been doing tris for a few years now, mostly sprints, but I did my first oly last year at the Denver tri. I was a competitive swimmer through college, so that's been my main impetus for getting into triathlons. Running has been on and off throughout the same time I've been doing tris, so I'm really trying to skip the "off" parts of my training. I'm the coacher for swimming. In the evenings I work with a small team of kids who are working towards joining more competitive teams, on Saturdays I teach lessons (from beginner to advanced masters athletes) in Highlands Ranch. And thanks! It was the Cherry Creek Sneak and when you turned the last corner you could see the finish line, but it took *forever* to get there! The 10k is the Boulder Bolder and I'm looking forward to the festival-type atmosphere. I'd *love love love* to run the whole thing, but I have a ways to go before I get to that goal, not sure I'll be able to pick it up in a month, but I'll keep working on it for sure.

Wow, I'd say you're a "finisher", and not just a "starter." We all have our ups and downs on dieting, but "finishing" a race says something for the determination, patience and perseverence in us, that separates the "want to's" from the "can do's". Keep up the good work.
