When I first started losing weight three years ago, I had a mini candy bar in my desk drawer at work. I decided that I would leave it in case I needed chocolate one day. My thought was that the mini bar would be better than the full sized (or king sized) bar in the vending machine. It became a challenge to see how long that candy bar stayed. Eventually, I threw the thing away since I figured it would be too old to eat. Lots of things have happened since then and I lost focus. I've managed to maintain the 50 lbs I lost, but I stopped losing. I decided that it was time to finish losing the other 50 lbs I need to.

So yesterday I really wanted some chocolate. All I could think about was how my coworker keeps a bunch of fun sized candy bars in her desk. I wanted one bad. I finally got up and got one and a cup of black coffee. I put both on my desk waiting for the coffee to cool a bit before I enjoyed my snack. I started on the coffee but let the candy bar sit. I decided I could wait. And it sat there all day today.

Just like that, I'm back to my silly game. The rules are simple. If I'm going to eat chocolate, I have to eat that candy bar. We'll see how long I can let it sit.
