ShyGuy's Journal, 16 April 2012

Today was my normal day to weigh in; I'm happily down another two pounds. Hoo Yaa!

I, unexpectedly, got off work, very early this morning, due to a power outage in my area. I took the opportunity to go and see the movie, "Hunger Games". It was better than I thought it would be, considering I hadn't planned on seeing it in the first place, but it was about to show when I popped in the theater. Afterwards, I decided to eat lunch at my favorite, Japanese buffet, and turned it into an excercise in self restraint. Yeah, I ate off plan, but I limited this, unplanned, indulgence to egg drop soup, a plate of sushi, and a tasty assortment of Chinese food. I washed it down with a pot of green tea. I could have eaten a lot more, and have in the past, but I wanted to prove to my self, that I could eat there without over doing it. It would be impossible to give an accurate acounting, in my food diary, but knowing I used some restraint, and will be having a very light dinner, later on, is enough. I mentioned in Gwen's journal, the other day, that this way of eating is always a balancing act, and it is. I just hope that this indulgence doesn't upset my balance, and cause me to gain weight, which it shouldn't, since it was only one meal. I guess I'll know next Monday; life goes on. :-)

I remember when you used to get carried away eating in places like this. You have come a long way. This is a process. We'll be on this road for the rest of our lives, always have to be careful. When we don't allow the exception to become a permanent thing, are always AWARE, I think we will accomplish our goals for the duration.

Good job, ShyGuy....going out to eat and being able to restrain oneself shows that it is becoming a way of life rather than just a diet. Sounds as if you just had an all around good day. And woohoo to another two pounds.
