So confused...I have had the ultimate week, no drinking, clean eating, small portions, killing it at the gym, plus cycling to work...my Fitbit has been recording 6,000 steps a day - and I have digital scales which are fairly accurate...so why have I gained 2lbs? Its not menstrual...I don't get it! - this has been a bit of a motivation-killer today :-(

I am thinking that maybe its a better idea to weight in once a month. The scales just seem to fluctuate so much for me from week to week. Anyone else find this?

Do you weigh the same day every week? Reason I ask is that the body will plateau twice a week in average so you will notice a spike in weight if this isn’t a case without knowing your story I would suggest it’s your body fighting against the shock treatment if it isn’t used to the sort of healthy lifestyle that you have undertaken the last week don’t let it knock your confidence keep working hard you will succeed

Also if you have consumed foods like avocado regular although it’s a good fat it is known that people gain weight eating avocado

It maybe the time of day you are weighing in.. early morning or afternoon after eating and also clothed or the same each week.. too many factory as in water retention also.. wouldn’t be that worried it will come back down again no matter what 👍🏼😁

Agree with about, your weight can vary but a couple of pounds in a day. Also you could be gaining muscle. I often check my waist line with inch tape as well as weighing myself on scales as I know weight fluctuates

Thanks for the comments all :-) Yes Jamesrees83, I've been having 1 avocado a week.....I am weighing each morning before any food/drink. I have lost 1 inch off my waist so I know in myself that I have lost. perhaps I need to get my BMI measured instead of relying on the weight :-)

Hi try and stay positive, maybe get into a habit of weighing in once a week as your body can hold onto water ? And a few bad days can get you down .. keep up the good work and you’ll get there in the end .. 👍

If you are using up more cals than you eat consistently then you will lose weight but its not linear. Have faith it will happen if you keep on it.

Probably just water retention, wouldn’t worry

I think it may be muscle gain and water retention. Don't worry and I think you should be proud of starting some exercise routines. In my opinion you are doing well and that gain is just a muscles and water ( and not fat).

think it's muscle gain I weigh myself on the electronic scales at the gym and last week I put on 1 lb but my body fat stayed .roughly the same indicating it was water retention or muscle gain u are doing well keep it up
