Hello Folks:
So, I received Dr Fung's book today titled The Complete Guide To Fasting. I have to admit that fasting is new to me and I did not know there were so many different kinds. I do "buy" the idea that we as humans have been conditioned to fasting - for most of our time here on Earth food did not appear in supermarkets.
So, I am reaching out to folks for their thoughts on fasting. Easy? Hard? Best practices or ways to get started. I look forward to your comments and. I have been losing weight at a steady pace but I am readying for all of this to slow down and I need some more tools in my arsenal.

It's hard for the first 3 days or so, then gets easy. It is not a magic bullet, it is just a helpful method to reduce overall calories for some. I like being able to consume large meals later in the day.

I have the audible and kindle version of this book. Fantastic for you. 16/8 is easiest fast. For example last meal 7 pm, next meal 11 AM with an eating window of 8 hrs. Then you can transition into OMAD, one meal a day. This are 2 examples I do often

On one now... About 42 hours in, and will probably end it at about 48 hours. Haven't used any books.
I have found that it really works for me thus far, although this is only my 3rd fast the weight is coming off quite quickly. Probably at about 3 lb a week if not more.
Hardest point is day 1 dinner time... Approaching 24 hours when I have to make the kids dinner. Next day it is simply a case of it would be nice to eat, but the hunger is ok.
I would recommend it. Appetite seems down, I am sleeping better, energy levels are up. And I get to enjoy my weekend food without feeling guilty. Downside (or upside depending on your point of view) is that I tend to get an upset stomach if the food is too rich, so actually can't eat too much on the day I end the fast either.
