chesgreen's Journal, 18 September 2017

2017 Aug - Completed - 102 Net Carbs daily average (Baseline)
2017 Sep - In Progress - 60 Net Carbs daily average [1st. Adjustment - 40% reduction from baseline (curr avg 65.1538889 -- I will get to the 60 Net Carbs goal in 12 days)]
2017 Oct - Planned - 36 Net Carbs daily average [2nd Adjustment - 40% reduction from Sep]

I don't believe in diets. I am making deliberate dietary changes that I will track, monitor and adjust to fit my today's and tomorrow's health goals. Every bite I take or choose not to take will get me closer or further away from my goals. Not the aliens, my wife or the emergency 3 pack of Peggy Lawton Oatmeal cookies in my desk drawer[been there for 4 months now] will get in my way of what I want to accomplish.

I have a specific plan that I will not alter because I have to make it my own (I will be open to recommendations ONLY if I ask for help, don't stop encouraging me if you would like because everyone needs cheering on here and there.) I study success because success leaves clues (thanks for logging and journals you FS Masters)

I will not be denied of my goals.

Haha I was just going to recommend you not lock your wife in your desk drawer, certainly not together with the aliens, then saw your wise reminder that unsolicited advice is BS, always worth vastly less than you pay for it. Apologies if my earlier pleas for you to log blueberry pie etc were advicey. My bad. --- "Success leaves clues." YES. Am so grateful for everyone's logs. Admire the way you're ramping carbs down sanely; wish I'd done so rather than jumping into keto attempt. Thanks for traces you're leaving for those still to come.

Chesgreen - I ramped down from 300+ carbs to about 30-50 carbs a day in about three months. What I learned - when you do it quickly you feel like crap. I researched it and it seems to be a question of stasis. Even though I was eating high carbs my body "adjusted" and when I lowered carbs I even experience false hypoglycemia. This is backed up with studies and research. I was so surprised when at times I had blurry vision, foggy, tired, irritable and said Oh I am having a hypoglycemic event yet my numbers were just fine. Again, everyone is diff but keep going - I will be curious to see your journey.

Thanks PERKS! I'm working on a lifetime WOE. I had one extra glass of Merlot tonight and still at 25 net carbs. Dang 5 pieces of Wrigleys I ate between 8 am and 2 pm else I'd be at 15 net carbs. STUFFED right now at the end of night with a buzz and under 1500 cals. WINNING#

I need to stalk Perks' studies collection. My low-ish carb WOE in the 18 months or so prior to FS was probably 100/day and worked well except for results of no overview at all. Hoping to find whatever it takes to get even energy. Now off to skulk about your logs to see what macros look like in practice.
