BuffyBear's Journal, 21 March 2012

Day 3 of induction. My journal is a repeat of yesterday. Have decided not to worry about calories for a week to determine if I can lose just doing 20 net carbs. At 2,000 cals/day - This will be interesting.

Beautiful weather! Wanted to get a walk in at lunch time but have to go to Wal-Mart instead. Oh joy!

Good for you! Yes, do not even consider calories for now. Eat all you want of fats and protiens; especially the fats! Limit the sugar alcohols and artificial sweenters too for the best results. Enjoy!

In TOTAL agreement with the prevous comment. I think, especially on induction, when we strive to limit calories we end up cutting fats -- you want to convert your body to a fat-burning machine. Wishing you the BEST!!

BB, are you struggling with tiredness? Does that come with getting back on program after a long time being off? Can't remember if that is part of "atkins flu"? And for the record, not even looking at calories!

Buffy I totally agree with you.....I am still struggling so keeping the carbs low is the best thing and forget about the cals...onward and downward.

Yep what they have all said. Don't worry about the calories just yet. You could walk around WalMart really fast and get your exercise in :)

Oh no, the dreaded "Wal-Mart", that place makes me nuts, but they have great prices. Good luck sweetheart! :-)

Yesterday I ate 12 slices of bacon, 4 eggs and 2 suasage patties between lunch and dinner (in response to carb cravings--I showed them who was boss) and lost 1/2 a lb OVERNIGHT! PTL! I don't recommend that for everyday, but every once in a while even when no longer on induction concentrating on keeping up fats and keeping carbs way, way down can give a quick boost in weight loss.

WAy to go Buffy..I just got back from Wal Mart..I swear they only had one regular check out opened and the rest was 20 or less items..and they only had about 6 of those opened and they were full..I hate Wal Mart but its the only store except K Market..and they suck worse..LOL..I have to drive 50 miles in either direction to get to a good place to shop...have fun...:O)

20 net carbs is hard. Good for you Buffy. I don' know much about Atkins, but it looks like you're doing great.

I was thinking about a Walmart trip & decided uh uh, nah, I don't think so. Like Bren, the last time I was there (I checked out @ 7AM), they only had 2 checkouts with live bodies & both were the "express" 20 items of less lanes, but we all had way more than 20 items. 20 net carbs is awesome, best not to worry about calories at all & see what happens!
