posterchild66's Journal, 09 March 2012

Woohoo! My plateau has eroded or broken! 234.8 (The scale said .6 mostly, but stopped at .8).

I have really grandiose cheating plans for today, but I am having second thoughts. My wife and daughter are gone, and my son wants chicken wings or fried chicken. I am tempted to break out my deep fryer. If I cooked them now, that would be cool, but if I cook a big batch later, they will last until tomorrow (that's not a cheat day!!). Plus i have some plans including cocktails. Hangover + fried foods laying around (and possibly ice cream) is a sure recipe for diet disaster. So much so I find myself drinking less. It was out of the question last night, as I was under too much stress, and worked late. Good thing too, new low today! I wish I could blame my plateau on booze, but I dont drink on Thursdays generally.

If my goal is unobtainable (230 by march 30) then I will do another 30 days booze free. No big deal.

So perhaps I will forget about the fryer today. Son has a Baseball game at 1500. I may go to that or just drop him off. Tonight I am thinking of jamming to some tunes and hanging around the house with some adult beverages. I have a friend who may stop by while in travel. I may just see where the night takes me.

Well, off to the market with son. Need to make a list. I need to PM king a recipe too! Have a great day and CYA!

I was just wondering how long you were at your "platuea" ? I seem to have hit one now...and with serious diet and exercise, it isn't moving...ugh.

Deep Fryer sounds like a DANGEROUS path, especially with potential leftovers. Watch your step, and step carefully, JP. :)

Manda, I plateaued about a month this time it seems. You can look at my weight history. I was losing 2-3 lbs a week steadily, then it stopped. But my life and activity level is changing quite a bit because of a injury (achilles). King, we have delayed the deep frying until next week when it can be consumed by more family member

Your supposed to stumble so that I don't feel bad about my meager progress...I don't weigh in until tomorrow evening, so we'll see how I've done...but CONGRATULATIONS on your progress...it pushes me to keep at it!! Later

Glad to hear you are delaying the deep frying. :)

Thanks Ya'll. @Madjak30, Keep going man. I need someone to chase! @erika Thanks, I am just delaying it. Something I think junk foods are better if you make them, because you know whats in it. Yeah, it may not be great. I have to teach my son the virtues of fresh fried foods. The problem with fryers if you invest in that oil, and then feel you need to use it. BTW, that reminds me I want to buy one of those expensive fryer things that only use like 1TBS of oil and it tastes the same. Hmm...

I'm all about 'everything in moderation' - I've been known to fry up some fresh fish this winter after ice fishing - the key is to not go overboard! I just make sure to keep it within RDI and pair it with some good veggies.. Keep pushing each other, madjak and JP - it's a lot more fun when you have someone to 'compete' with and keep motivated!! :)
