I did not invent these- here is the link........https://youtu.be/Xgm8Fp1wqdQ or you can just search Keto connect low carb tortillas on YouTube ........The author doesn't mention how much water to add. I used about 1/4 cup I think. I used a lot less seasoning than she did- dry seasonings have carbs too. I got 10 6" tortillas. The author got 17 tiny authentic taco sized tortillas. I would cover them with foil as your cook so they don't dry out. I prefer having another, heated, larger non-stick pan next to the small one so you just flip the opposite side into the larger pan once the first side is browned, and then the small pan is ready for you to pour the next tortilla. The pouring action is very close to pouring a crepe by hand....................In fact you can separate out a half cup of the batter before you add spices, add a pinch of cinnamon and stevia to the half cup and make up a couple of crepes for berries & whipped cream etc. for dessert. 😉

On top of the tortilla is simply ---plain shredded chicken from the Whole Foods salad bar, freshly made Pico from Whole Foods, hot sauce, avocado, sour cream & sea salt....

They do not taste eggy. They make a GREAT taco. Oh YUM. The ingredients are: egg whites, coconut flour, water, spices, salt.

How many eggs did you use, and how much coconut flour, water, spices, and salt did you use. Also can you list the spices that you use for this recipe. Some spices doesn't taste good in certain recipes.

Keto is the best thing I've ever done for my weight, but I'm strict.

Summer- the instructions are on YouTube- short video, better than I can explain although I've also put some added comments here on FS too. Its not my recipe- Like the author I used: 1.5 cups liquid egg whites, 1/3 cup coconut flour. Give or take 1/4 cup of water. I think I used 1/4 teaspoon each: garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, cumin and a couple shakes of salt. But I recommend watching the video to learn how to make them. Cheers

Stephanie- I personally think/feel that Keto has stages. I got into ketosis using Atkins induction which I think is a great way to start. Google "Atkins Induction" and read their instructions and Induction food list and see what you think. In the beginning it's very important to eat fat liberally, plenty of protein and keep carbs very low so the body learns that the carbs aren't coming and to shift to using fat for fuel. These tortillas are not good for the induction period because of the coconut. Better to wait on nut flours until you have been in Ketosis for a month. Its also not good to start and stop ketosis, cheat, be inconsistent. etc. I would recommend you read about the induction period and see if it's something you would like to try.You need to eat several servings of vegetables every day- most of your carbs will come from there. If you have more than 40 pounds to lose, you will probably find it a pleasant way to lose weight. Cheers!

Stephanie- yes, Keto is a great way to lose fat but spare muscle. Also some Elite Athletes use it for endurance because the requires eating glucose for energy- they can run, ride etc. just taking fluids, for extended period of time without having to refuel because the body makes its own fuel by tapping its own fat stores.

Apache- I hear you! My Mom started Keto just for weight loss but now everyone we know who has decided to try low carb has also been able to eliminate all kinds of health problems like rare forms of reflux that supposedly require surgery, chronic pain, my Mom's supposed "stage 3 kidney disease" that disappeared on her lab results, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, reduction in migraines etc. all that just in 6 months in my immediate circle. I am grateful every day to have stumbled upon this. Every day I read more research that clearing away starchy carbs clears away many, many maladies. 😊

Stephanie, I'm doing this just to maintain, and I hope, eventually to build muscle. I don't feel like my body is on board sufficiently yet to try extended cardio like swimming. Have only been doing this a few weeks, and so far just stalking Bluecoaster to learn all I can. My body is changing already, that's for sure.

Also, keto (and the logging everything) is raising my awareness of how important choice of fat is. Apparently, there's a significant impact on hormone balance. Keto is definitely not for everyone, so it's important to be sure it's not counterindicated for any conditions you have. But if you're cleared to try it, it's worth giving it a shot!

I'm going to hop in on this chat and add that Keto happens in stages and it's so very different how it evolves for each person. When your body has been using glucose as fuel your entire life, it can take patience and adjustments for some people ( I include myself here) to get the body fully adapted and on board. The struggle is really worth it for people who have health problems that can be healed through a ketogenic diet.

PEOPLE- IF YOU MAKE THESE YOU'VE GOT TO SWIRL THE BATTER LIKE YOU ARE MAKING A CREPE, BEST TO WATCH THE YOUTUBE VIDEO 👍

Thank you both for your very wise comments regarding this diet. It takes a lot of research and understanding to do this diet and adapt to the lifestyle. Because of the large number of people on this site using this diet I wanted to become familiar with it.
