Yeah, the "funny" thing about LC is if I eat "carby" weight gain can be huge, but get right back on and loss is also huge...

That is the one thing that keeps me reluctant about LC...I want to be able to enjoy bread (once I reach my GW) and not fear the scale.

I am used to the peaks as I intentionally carb re-feed once per week, its always different, this time I lost weight the day after, then gained it 2nd day after..weird. Plus I had an extra carb re-feed for aniversary. twice a week is definitely counter productive if I am trying to lose weight. Once a week I can still lose 2 lbs a week.

soontobe- The main reason I like LCHF is I am not hungry. Hunger is the number one de-railer for me. If I'm hungry/not satisfied I will binge. LC doesn't mean I will never have a piece of bread. It does mean bread is not a main staple for me.... I know LC isn't for everyone, but it has been a godsend for me and I can't help but preach just a little :-)

At your current weight a weekly carb re-feed won't hurt. TSTBSB (I think I got all those letters in there) once you reach your goal weight on low carb you add most things back in, except sugar, always avoid sugar, other than that you're basically running a "normal" calorie controlled diet. How you control those calories is up to you.

Thank you both for the input! I really appreciate this kind of stuff being cleared up...I'm currently waiting for a couple books on LCHF to arrive, it seems like a great WOE. For me, the biggest challenge is always emotional eating. If I'm bored, sad, etc...I'm more likely to binge. Hunger plays less of a role (although it is still there!).

I listened to Dr. Eric Westman speak about getting back into ketosis after a carb refeed. Some people get back after a couple of days, but for the particularly insulin resistant ones (like me), it can take weeks. I'm just now getting my groove back following the holiday modest carb indulgence. My weigh loss chart shows major upticks after every holiday. Vigilance to required for this to work for me!

TSTB, the books you get should help you figure out when and if you could or shouldn't have a little carbs. These guys are all pros at the LCHF thing so they have good advice and experience. I am sacrificing slower weight loss to have a "carb nite"..but I'm weird. If I were you I would go 100% LCHF for a few weeks, give it a good effort, read your books, ask these guys questions, analyze your results and keep on going!

Good points Erika and Yugguth. Erika, I'm resistant also so have to be careful if I don't want to go backwards a bunch. When I get closer to goal, then I can act more like Yugguth.
