I have been reading about meditation and visualizations helping your body aid in weightloss. Actually reading a good book on it. Has anyone ever dabbled in meditation/visualizations to help you?

I use hypnosis, especially when I'm feeling way off track. It's just guided relaxation into a meditative state, and some sessions do have you visualize your skinny self. It definitely has been a help to me. I use it for things other than weight management, too (motivation, confidence, public speaking, sleep, energy...) Even if you didn't do hypnosis, meditation and visualization are extremely powerful tools - elite athletes visualize their form and the end goal even when they aren't physically practicing. Focusing on your desired outcome rather than beating yourself up over every little failure is definitely a happier way to be, and I think much more likely to result in success.

What's the book? And what do you like about it?

Yeah, girl! Get your sit on. I meditate. Intend to sit daily, but am not as consistent as I would like. Have done less with the visualization, but the research says it works. Key seems to be visualizing the process, i.e. your diet (and forbearance) during the day and/or killing your workout vs. yourself as a supermodel. You might find Richard Wiseman's 59 Seconds interesting. He takes a scientific look at what works (and what does not) for personal change. https://www.amazon.com/59-Seconds-Change-Under-Minute/dp/0307474860 #sit

I have done it and it worked, the thing is you have to stick to it. I took images of women that I wanted to look like and kept it around me, every little detail and I had a book of those images with me while working out on the treadmill it really worked. I had lost 70 lbs. gained it back, but i have to work harder at keeping the pounds off

I've never done it for weight loss specifically, but I do it on occasion for stress release. Best of luck!
