I just can't get into the 'buy yourself something as a reward' kick... or the 'reward yourself for hitting milestones'.. I'VE TRIED!! ... LOL...I just can't excite myself over buying myself a gift. It's like trying to tickle myself... I reward myself all the time anyway whenever I need, sure I may get excited at times.. work is hard? Get a special bubble bath.... did all that spring cleaning? Get a mani-pedi.. but I just can't get into, 'lost weight? buy shoes'.... So, because of this, as little and petty as it may seem.. I really do appreciate the little charms that are given at Weight Watchers for hitting milestones... I really like my little tiny keyring of charms.. :)

I have ONE reward for myself. My husband gave me a gift card for facials and a massage. I have had several facials but am saving the massage til I hit goal weight. I don't know why, god knows I could use a nice stress relieving massage now. It just seems so luxurious I don't want to squander it, lol...

In actuality, there is a huge reward for losing weight, and that is being so much more active, feeling better, maybe more self respect, and I believe as you lose, the added activity compounds on itself for even more loss of weight. It probably doesn't hurt to reward yourself.

I am finding that losing weight and getting stronger are my two rewards. I have way too much stuff and too many activities to get into "pampering" myself, when real pampering involves aerobics, weight lifting, dancing with friends, and taking care of my pets.

Becoming healthier, more agile, more attractive and yes, fitting into smaller clothes! And it's subtle, but palpable - being less frequently the target of prejudice toward fat people.
