PicklesPickles's Journal, 14 October 2016

Again.. I'm afraid to weigh in tomorrow.. This time, because I feel so bloated. My stomach is noticably puffed out... how can I deflate it before tomorrow?? I take a water pill for my blood pressure.. which, by the way has been fricking excellent.. I wonder how much longer I'll need meds... Whether it's gas or water, I have to get rid of it ASAP for my weighin!!

If it's gas, it doesn't weigh much. ;)If it's water, I know it sounds counterintuitive, but drink more water!

Try that parsley water thing. It couldn't hurt, although it took 2 days for me to see effects.

Aw! I get that sometimes where I feel REALLY swollen in the belly, used to get it MUCH more often before I lost weight. The diuretics are so awesome, they can really take down the bloat. Have you eaten anything just recently that you're not used to, or too much of that might be causing a reaction? I always try to back track and figure out what might be upsetting my body. Anyways, don't stress the weight in! Just do your thing and keep on track, I'm sure you know the scale isn't the only sign of improving health and the more we move around the more muscle weight we build. If your weight is high tomorrow don't sweat it, YOU know if you've been sticking to your plan, but the scale is often clueless :-)

If it's not the meds, you might be sensitive to certain foods. Gassy ones typically include: Dairy, nuts, broccoli, raisins. Sometimes even the tablespoon of cream in your coffee is enough to cause bloating for the whole day.

That's correct, dairy can be killer on your digestion (and your complexion). I with I didn't depend on cheese so much for protein but I'm not ready to part with it yet. (if ever)

I think drinking more water will help you - gives the meds something to work with. Good luck!

Hang with it - bloating is sometimes sodium or dairy as others have mentioned.

Thanks all... The only meds I'm on is the diuretic for BP and that should be controlled once I'm under control. I may be a bit of a drama queen, but I don't think I stress too much. It's the same as taking an exam at the University. Gotta work for it, hope for the best... Don't get that A, be bummed, but work harder... Saturday is test day for me...and I'm hoping to keep doing my best to not fail.

I learned years ago when I started training to lose weight and get in shape/live healthier that the scale can sometimes be your worst enemy. Weighing yourself everyday can really stress you which also isn't good. Measure yourself, keep a journal and keep up healthy clean eating, cardio and lift weights the more muscle you build the more fat that gets consumed :) and keep that head up one day at a time. You got this !!
