I'm feeling a little better about things -- I just have to get back into the routine again, and it's been hard because my routine has been changing so much. Sometimes I meet people who claim to exercise 2 hours per day and work full time and cook healthy meals from scratch, and I cannot figure out how they do it. I no longer work full time, but I try to be up by 7:30 am, but by the time I shower, dress, walk the dogs for 20-30 minutes, make their meals for the day and make and eat my own breakfast, it's always 9am. Then I usually do phone calls or a little writing for a few hours, and 3 days a week I try to go skating at noon. By the time I get home and have lunch, it's suddenly 2pm, and I have to squeeze into the afternoon any additional client work, another dog walk most days, grocery shopping, etc. I'm so busy all the time that I can't figure out how I functioned in the days when I was working 60 hours a week. Of course I probably wasn't functioning very well, since I kept gaining and losing the same 50-75 pounds over and over again. So either I'm really really a slow poke, or my expectations are out of wack. Not sure which...

I read with interest the posts from people who are successful at fasting. Unfortunately, fasting is not a good idea for me. When my blood sugar drops below a certain level, I start to shake and sweat and I get dizzy. That's why my snack diary looks like I eat constantly -- because I have to divide up my calories across the day so I don't have trouble.
