Ok, I need some advice. I'm still in induction. I don't think I carry much water weight around because of a blood pressure medication I'm on. Since Sunday, I've put on 3 pounds!!! I'm totally frustrated. I've been drinking half my body weight in water, under carb goal and under calorie goal every day. What am I doing wrong?

some blood pressure beds can cause weight gain (slow the metabolism). Maybe look up whatever you are taking. Sounds like you are doing everything right.

Try weighing once a week it's not so frustrating, you know you have been true to yourself so dont worry it well come off.

I've been on the med for months though. Nothing new. When most people start Atkins, they start losing weight quickly because they're losing all their water weight. I've don't have much of that to get rid of, so I'm not seeing those results.

Might want to check you sodium intake (you can change your diet calendar to show sodium as one of your columns). I've retained as much as 5 lbs of water weight when I had an extremely salty lunch one day, only to pee it all out at night with 4 trips to the bathroom. Keep drinking the water to flush it out. A quick tally shows you intake yesterday was above 2000 mg, not counting any salt you may have added yourself. I believe folks on BP meds are recommended to have even lower intake than the RDA of 2200 mg by some. I personally add salt to nothing.

I'll keep an eye on the sodium and try to weigh myself less. Thanks for the advice. :D

You also want to check with your doctor and see if there is another med that will work as well but not have the same side effects. It's easy to just accept what the doctor says, sometimes, but we are equally responsible for our health and what our bodies need! (This is not meant as criticism, it's what my doctor told me!) Good luck!
