would anyone like to add me and maybe offer some support? I truly do not get much support from my spouse or friends... How do I refrain when I am cooking the food? I despise watching food go to waste and having only two people in the house it is difficult to eat everything that is cooked. Any suggestions? I really would like to drop the last 19 lbs!

You need to portion yourself, serve yourself and put the food away. Food is much more tempting when it's easily accessible. I grew up not letting food go to waste, my mom used to always tell me to clean the plate. And I have let it happen a few times, but the less I do it the more control I gain over the situation. And if someone else eats with you, or you cook for them, set out their plate, then yours, and call out a night.

Hey there. I have the same struggle. I live with my boyfriend and it is very hard to cook for just two. I also grew up in a household where I was taught to eat everything that was on my plate. I struggle mostly when going out to eat because I feel like, well, I just paid for all of this, I don't want to waste it. What I normally do when cooking at home is portion out what I should eat, then put the rest away to eat for leftovers the next day as lunch. Many times when I make big pots of soup I will freeze some for a day when I do not have time to cook. I also will bring leftovers to work for employees as I'm vegan and I like spreading the vegan food around to show my friends and co-workers that vegan food is delicious. You have to remember that you want to make some changes and you are the only one that can control what and how much you eat. You're not wasting food if you save it for another meal. Good luck to you. I'd be happy to be your buddy on here if you're interested!

I agree with StillMR305. In our house at dinner time we usually grab a plate of food each, and I pack the rest away for lunches for the following day. It's gone. Out of sight, out of mind. The other solution, of course, is to cook less food. :)
