kingkeld's Journal, 02 November 2011

This week is NOT being good to me, weight wise. I haven't lost a thing since my lowest weigh-in Saturday and I am as high as I was right after Indulgence Day.
Of course, I know what some of the issues are. I have stayed within my RDI all the time, but I have made some poor choices. I've had too much candy and chocolate, first of all. This leaves less room for proper nutrition.
That was the problem up until yesterday. Yesterday I didn't have candy, though I did have my favorite low fat ice cream. I've had that several times every week since the beginning of my weight loss journey - it helps keeping me sane. :)
However, yesterday Wife and I decided to go to the local pizza/kebab house for dinner, and while I still just had a pita with lettuce, chicken and bacon (and recorded everything and stayed within the RDI), it was too much bread and it was really heavy. It weighed me down in a bad way, and I think that's also what makes me suffer today. I feel bloated and generally a little miserable. I should have just opted for the salad, which is the same thing sans the bread.
Since we had dinner out yesterday, I have no leftovers for lunch today. The initial plan was then to bring a frozen dish, but I just didn't want it because it has rice in it. I'm trying to avoid white bread, pasta, rice and potatoes. I can't do it 100%, it becomes too impractical for me, but I am going as far as I can.
So I have chosen to opt out of the rice dish, and made myself two salads, one for lunch, one for later. I am also bringing 3 HUGE carrots for snacks. Today, I think I will actually be WAY low on calories, but I'll live with that. One day won't hurt. Tomorrow I will make sure to reach something closer to my RDI.
Yesterday was a stressful day, a lot of things going on, and a lot of outside factors made my work a little harder. I was SO tired when I came home, but stayed up as long as I could. I ended up going to sleep around 8:30 pm, and slept until 4 am this morning. I got up, got ready for work, cleaned the kitchen, did my lunches, and I am now - at 6 am - contemplating whether I should jump on the exercise bike! I think I will do that right after I finish writing this journal. I need to get with the program on all fronts - and the bike will make me feel great all day!

So, I know you're asking... "Why does he need TWO salads!" - well, right after work "my" drummer will be picking me up and we will be going to Copenhagen to do some shopping. For him, shopping includes an almost 4,000 dollar new drum kit! I think I'm almost as excited as he is! LOL. I love shopping at music stores, and this will be a blast of an afternoon. I just wanna make sure I have proper food to eat - Copenhagen means a lot of restaurants but very few proper food choices. My drummer is a vegetarian, and this would limit me even more. So chicken salad it is for me. :)

Have a wonderful day, everyone. I know mine will be great - actually it will be a blast!

At least you KNOW, why you haven't lost and why you feel yukky... You went through something similar, about 3 or 4 weeks ago, but the next week it turned around. Maybe this is how it is going to be at this stage of your journey.... A crap week then a couple of awesome weeks. Well done for getting on that bike KingKeld... Proud of you.....
