my spine got bad when I was 18... bad genetics mixed with a work accident led to a life of pain. really all I can do is bike, yoga, supplements, stop carrying my toddler so much, lose more weight and start going to the chiropractor again... I'm not sure what the dr. can tell me that's different.. I bet I'll pay a bunch of money for him to tell me what I just said. until they come up with spine replacement surgery, I think I'm screwed lol............ *sigh* I just have to stop being so depressed over it. negative moods makes it hurt more..... I have to remember I have many other things to be thankful for even if it's hard to see past this right now

and the story of my spine is long and boring...but short version... got hurt, was put on drugs, became and addict, chiropractor for years, physio, more pills, lost family and friends over pills, ditched pills, lost feeling in leg, re learn to walk, after fighting for 7 or so years finally got an mri, was told no one will help me until I'm pissing and shitting myself, told I'd be in a wheelchair. .....pregnant, baby seemed to help it somehow..... now losing weight shifted me bringing back pain... I'm falling back to where I was but I'm trying to fight it

@Hunter.......I feel for you. I have issues with my neck and lower back and it started in my mid-forties. Just do what you can when you can. You've done good so far. Keep on fighting. Hugs.

Would one of those back support belts (you can get at Walmart) be of help to you?

I'm sorry to hear your back is still hurting! And with the kids, my goodness! Have you thought of swimming for exercise to ease the pain and pressure? My mother (she exercises unlike myself) has chronic back pain, she's really into swimming and yoga (for stretching) those are the only exercises she does but she says it helps with her back pain. Please relax, de stress and try to feel better!!!!!

I will NOT snoop your food diary. I do know that osteoarthritis is reversible. It's about reducing inflammation in your body. Inflammation is autoimmune in nature. The best resource I know is Dr. Terry Wahls, who reversed the symptoms of her own progressive secondary multiple sclerosis using diet, electric stim, and supplements. If you already have deformities and/or ruptured discs, that won't change, but reducing inflammation will reduce pain. Non food methods to reduce inflammation include meditation, skin to skin contact or self massage and sunlight. I just want to say it's not hopeless. I have family members who were given your same poor prognosis after work injuries. They are now 54 and 74 and still walking. The 54 year old is still working. He is powered by pot and booze, though, and I don't recommend that! Just want to say the professionals get it wrong sometimes.

I have herniated disks, last I heard I had stage 3 degeneration, spinal stenosis, numbness, sciatica, other nerve impingements, there was talk of a fused vertebrae too but I didn't see that in the x-rays I've seen so I don't believe that one... the rest? I saw myself.

I have back braces but i find I feel weak the next day and makes it worse. ... my tight muscle spasms are keeping my spine togther I thin.... when I've taken muscle relaxers my bones shift around and I end up screaming until they wear off and my back tightens up again...

Great idea! If it works, you can save money in the future by making your own capsules. They have these capsule making machines on Amazon . . . 😉

as for swimming... I gotta try to get into this one pool with a membership otherwise the only other pool I can get to is 40 mins away. when we eventually buy a house we are going to make sure it comes with a pool or has room to put one in.... but yes I should call that one place and see if they will accept me

I dont know your situation exactly...but my trainer always says..most back pain is due to weak stomach muscles...which means your back doesn't have any support. Your situation could be very different and have a different root cause. But why not try focusing on getting your ab muscles really strong to help support your back?
