Have you tried Ibuprofen 400 mg? Make sure you eat something before you take them. It works fine for me.

Ibuprofen has never worked but it is also not good on Atkins I was told...

Why is it not good on Atkins?

It's okay if it does not work for you. It was just a suggestion. When I have a migraine coming up I certainly don't care if it goes with Atkins or not. It needs to go and if that is the only thing that helps I take it. Nothing to say against Tylenol if it helps you and in an acute phase it is quite normal that it wears off after 4h. So, don't worry about it and take them as needed. Just make sure you don't go over the highest daily dose. And even with Tylenol, eat something, just a bite, before you take them.

I am eating lunch now and have about 50 minutes until I can take dose 2. I have had migraine issues for about 8 years now. Nothing has actually really helped, still trying to figure it all out :(

You are having pain now... take them after lunch, you don't have to wait the 50 min. As I said, just don't go over the recommended 24h dose which is 4000mg. And you are taking 2 at a time, are you?

I was never able to figure out where mine is coming from. Sometimes it hits me in the middle of the night, I wake up from it. Since it is a constriction of the blood vessels it might be caused by your overall tension.

They have done so many tests and can't figure it out but I literally have some sort of headache every day and migraines are about half-3/4 of them

And yes I take 2 extra strength rapid release tylenols equaling 1000mg each time

They don't really know what causes migraine. All they can do is treat the symptoms and we have to live with it, hoping it will not hit us again. Hope you feel better soon.

Now my kids are picking today to bang on everything in the living room...why??? It's not an every day thing for them so why pick a migraine day?

Maybe they are asking for attention? Don't get me wrong here but sitting in front of the screen does not necessarily help your migraine. Maybe take some time off and cuddle with the kids on the couch ;-)

I stay signed in but I don't stay at the computer. I'm cleaning the house...slowly today because of my head, but cleaning nonetheless.

Sandyh50- sorry I didn't answer sooner just saw your comment, I believe ibuprofen is a blood thinner or something like that.

Ibuprofen is not a blood thinner, that's Aspirin.

I don't remember exactly what was said, just that it wasn't good. Sorry I was never much of an ibuprofen user.

I guess you can say that about any pain reliever.

How are you feeling now? did the migraine get better?

No and I just took 2 more at 5, it's one of my bad ones that pulses and makes me want to throw up. It's only on the right side of my head now though.
