... Addictive as Pistachios!

Oh man, I was at a Dr's appointment today and was starving afterward. Had some shopping to do and while I was at it I got myself a pack of hotdogs to eat them right away. This is my candy - unhealthy but good. I really try to avoid to buy them because, as I said - addictive as pistachios.

Most of you will say now "yikes, uncooked!?" Well, they are not raw meat, not good meat, but not raw meat either. They are cooked already.

We have different eating habits in Germany and it pretty hard to let go of it even when you know that you are taking chances.

Today I saw a warning about salmonella in flour - don't eat raw dough!
Is there anything you can eat raw without taking chances - even vegetables? Why is it that I hear those things only here in the USA, never from Germany? Europeans need to eat too and the food industry is booming. Still, recalls and warnings are rare.

I love hotdogs that way also dunked in vinigar then a dab of mustard...just buy the better brand and they are not going to hurt your diet that much....I buy the beef and they are large... only 2 carbs...

Fred - I buy the regular ones, they have 2 carbs as well. They are so similar to what we have in Germany, something like a Kielbasa, the big round one, but not sweet at all. I always loved to eat it, cold, hot, baked stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon *yummy* Thing is, as I tried to explain, one hotdog will not do the trick *lol* Well, it was my dinner for tonight.

The food industry in Europe and the food industry in America/U.S. are not the same and their laws and regulations aren't the same, meaning just because there are warnings about this and that in the U.S. doesn't necessarily mean Europe follows suit or visa versa. There are some food items that are banned in Europe, in particular items containing certain food additives and chemicals, but are sold in the U.S.

Enjoy the hot dogs. I love them too. For me not so good because of the salt.
