Friends, I have sinned.

This past weekend, was a much needed couples weekend away.

Had we NOT purchased Hint of Lime Tostidos (my ABSOLUTE favorite and only purchase on special occasions when there is more than my mouth to feed), had we not purchased the southern pimento cheese with bacon, had we NOT purchased the Special Dark Chocolate (Hershey) bar, and had we NOT purchased the non-alcoholic Ginger Beer....I MIGHT still be on track. OH yeah, and had we NOT purchased a bag of pre-popped Cromer's popcorn....which is going to find it's way in the trash today, as I have been the only fool to eat it....(officially IN THE GARBAGE NOW).

Seriously so not pleased with myself. Eating out, I did fine. The in-between meals (the other couple had decided not to have lunch, but eat breakfast and dinner) were snacking on not so healthy options.

Friday night - hubby and I went out to eat - grilled salmon, green beans, collard greens, small roll with butter (AMAZING), and water. We did buy two slices of pie, which did last all weekend, with us unfortunately eating most of it. AND for lunch on Friday, we did compromise -- I got a small limeade slushy with rainbow candy (nerds) and then we split a Subway sub - Club, with Sun Chips. So that was our "off kilter moment" (or so we thought). Fast forward to that evening - I had drank most of the water I needed for the day, yet choose to have a Ginger Beer and snack -- with 1 pint containers vs what I should have been using. Sunshine moment - at least I put it in a container vs moving the bag closer to the tv.

Saturday - Up before everyone - headed to the beach for a stroll and to take in God's beauty. Walked maybe a 1/2 mile on the beach before dropping my cell phone (which I use 85% of the time for work) into the Atlantic Ocean for about 2 seconds. Put a damper on the enjoyment and walked back to house - phone got a rice bath for next 24 hours. Breakfast was good - bacon, scrambled eggs, and grits (all measured), and asparagus. Lunch we fortunately were in the car and away from food. Early dinner - grilled salmon with jack daniels bourbon glaze (very strong), baked potato, roll with butter, and green beans (which tasted like fish...). Back to the house to watch 2 movies and guess what...we snacked the entire evening. :(

Sunday - breakfast - homemade granola (the husband of the other couple made - so it was organic and very good), 1 cup of grapes, 1 cup of strawberries and 5 asparagus spears steamed. So breakfast was good and healthy. And then it spiraled down from there....lots of candy snacking on the way home (smarties and boston style baked beans) and then stopped at Subway on the way home for a Carved Turkey and bacon 6" sub (that didn't taste right to me-- think they gave us old bread or something), and of course a limeade slushy with Rainbow candy -- only they didn't give us a small, but a medium...and there were not signs of outward complaints.

Monday - totally really didn't PLAN. Got up, worked out (the May challenge has started, so we at least were ON) - Breakfast - granola with yogurt, fruit and apple sauce. So not too bad....but...
Snacks - two cheese sticks, apple, and an excessive amount of wintogreen lifesaver candy at the office. I was so exhausted and sleepy! (still not sure what that's about). Lunch - a can -- 2 standard servings of Southwestern Chicken Chili -- which was good, but too much, then afterwards smelling the remains - blah! Supper - Veggie burger, 2 corn tortillas, mustard, spinach...and a just before bedtime snack: popcorn and granola. SERIOUSLY, WHO DOES THIS TO THEMSELVES???

Just one weekend of poor decisions, and I'm struggling to get back into the groove. I slept over 10 hours last night and this morning (due to we got up and worked out at 5am) got another hour in before I really had to get up and get ready for work...so hopefully I am not coming down with a cold, as I have the energy level of a slug.

Today, I start anew. I saw a post on Facebook where someone thought they were on the road to a hot smoking body and then a photo was taken...so funny how that totally plays tricks on your mind. Oh I took my photo, had my photo taken and yep, it does mess with you -- and it also gives you a glimpse at how far you've come and how hard you need to continue to work towards your goal.

I read an article about the Biggest Loser -- how the folks who had been on the show had gained most if not all, and more of their weight back. Part of me really wondered if that would be the case with me? If that was what happened with my husband? (He'd lost over 250lbs before he met me -- and gained it back, and is now working out with me and eating better to lose it again.)

There is alot of CRAP out in the world - trying to discourage us -- we MUST NOT ALLOW IT IN!!!

Okay, confession and rant officially over....getting back to work now.....typing.....

You are forgiven. Everyday is a new day. Only remember how much fun it was and do what needs to be done. :)
