Monday morning I finally went and got my blood drawn for my doctor. I am worried I may have diabetes. My dad has type 2 and is stereotypical example of what I thought gave people type 2 diabetes. He lives a sedatary lifestyle being a truck driver and was never the healthiest eater. I get my sweet tooth from him. I really was under the misconception that if you are fit and active, eat right, watch your sugar intake that no way can you be diabetic. That is not true, anyone can become diabetic. I am so nervous waiting for results and throw pms on top of that today has been "binge on all crap you normally don't ever eat" day! Ugh and I can feel sugar course through my veins when I indulge. I keep shoveling it in my face! Having such bad anxiety. I have so many diabetes symptoms I'll be shocked if I am not diagnosed with it. Then if I'm not.....what the hell is going on with my body. It will be nice to get answers but also so scary. It's also very upsetting to have been so healthy for 2 yrs and still be faced with health issues. Just need answers asap! I hope they call tomorrow :/

you can be a sugar addict who hasn't yet developed diabetes. Take control of it by going low carb. Your cravings will VANISH in three days. Then you won't want it anymore. Really!

Yes, there is a lot of type II diabetes that is genetically based and not just from bad diet and being overweight. Here's hoping that you get happy news, though!

Hi AngGoc, I have been diagnosed as having pre-diabetes and now my doctor says I have type 2 diabetes but I don't take insulin and take metformin and it does run in my family, but even though I am obese and have a sweet tooth, I'm not going to stress out about it and I encourage you to just keep working out and eat healthy and you will be able to keep it in check. I'm not going to be obsessed about it even though I'm 230 pounds and I haven't been exercising for a long time, so I'm sure you're doing way better than me and a lot of people who are trying to get fit and healthy. I'm thinking you will be fine, and hope it works out for you.

I just wanted to encourage you. Every time I go for my annual I tell my doc I have sugar issues. But she insists my numbers are fine. I am very sugar sensitive. I am a sugar addict. Too many carbs at one time can send me crashing, mentally and physically. I have found LCHF to be the only way to control my weight but more importantly my mood and my brain fog. When I eat too much sugar or even things that are deemed health (fruits, grains, even too many veggies at once) but turn into sugar I have big issues, brain fog, crashes(where I Can.Not. Stay awake), major depression, binge eating, crazy hungar, heartburn, I could go on.... Most people think I'm nuts but I have listened to my body and I know now what I have to do. I started eating this way a few years ago and felt great for the longest stretch of my life. But of course I got too lax letting my guard down and I gained 50 lbs in about a year!! Still at that point not diabetic but I know it's only a matter of time. My mom was diagnosed last year. I hope you are not diagnosed but sounds like you do know what is going on with you!!! Listen to yourself and be ruthless with your diet!

Well, results are in. I'm anemic. So that explains the unexplained fatigue, getting lightheaded ,shortness of breath and heart palpatations ,also my toes and fingers going numb. Wow, now onto further testing to see why I'm anemic. My next step is a g.i. specialist, could be crohns or something else. So many health issues lately. When it rains it pours. At least everything else in results were great. Sugar was 79, everything good with that. Now just need to get better. Was so lightheaded recently I felt like passing out. No fun! My hemoglobin is 8.1 and healthy for women is 12-15. If it gets to 7 a blood transfusion is needed. I am going to try and go back maybe test again ,hope it's not getting worse. I also think now I'm making it worse at times ,I'm almost having panic attacks when I get lightheaded, nervous to pass out. I've never passed out before. This sucks! At least the ball is rolling just need more answers. No exercise for me . I was trying to take walks this week but I'm to weak and my body just aches. Thanks for listening.

Did the doctor start you on iron and B12?

Glad to hear your blood sugar is so great!

Doc did not test my iron or vitamin levels because I told him I eat healthy. Also, we believe it's from blood loss from gut issues. Although I believe he should of checked them and started me on pills if I have a deficiency in something. I'm going to get a second opinion hopefully Monday. I just hope it's not something more serious going on inside me causing my body not to make red blood cells. It's scary when your body isn't doing well.
