northernmusician's Journal, 27 February 2016

Now that's interesting. I had a carb blotto yesterday and expected my weight to go through the roof, but instead of that happening, apparently my weight is stable. That means that what I was thinking was happening, that I'm at a carb loaded weight most of the time, is correct. Nasty starchy carbs didn't take me high the way they used to. Maybe my body is getting better at partitioning? Maybe being at a lower body fat my body simply deals with it better.

Trust me here, I'm not looking for a reason to start eating the way I did yesterday, but if this is indeed the situation, I have no reason to FEAR starchy carbs the way I used to. Frankly, I'm enjoying my new way of eating, that is, without a bunch of starchy carbs. It's habit now. I feel extremely fortunate to have escaped the catastrophe that could have been coming my way because of my past eating, and exercise habits. I hope you all find your groove as well.

You're at a good can amount to support your goals, it works for you. 1-2 days of high significantly higher carbs will bump you up a bit, but not much and whatever you do gain will come back down quickly when you go back on your normal schedule...... Which makes that night out for dinner enjoyable, not stressful.

Your correct. Follow what your body is telling you. You have changed your body's culture of eating, and that is a lot of the solution to the struggle. It is all about finding a even keel, with your diet, that you enjoy, which is unique to each of us.

That's a good place to be. I'm not interested in trying to achieve a zero tolerance lifestyle for all carbs forever. I'm just looking for that better balance, like you are finding.
