The race went great! We ran 9.3 miles (15K) in 1 hour 48 min. That averages 11.60 min/ mile. That included 2 potty stops, one with a line. It was perfect weather and we ran along the lakefront in Chicago and alongside several harbors and through parks and leaves. It was a beautiful course. We felt great the whole way through. I took one of the energy goos you suck down at 4.5 miles and that really gave me a renewed burst of energy for the second half of the race. I could have ran longer and felt completely fine at the end. I think there were about 12,000 runners divided b/w a 5K and the 15K. So a half marathon is competely do-able and I believe I could do it now. Just proves to show- really anything is possible if you stick with it and keep moving forward. I never in my wildest dreams thought I could run this far. I absolutely did not even think it was possible to do a year ago. So, set your goals, believe in yourself, and train and you can do anything!!

Wonderful race! Congratulations! I plan to train for a half-marathon. Just haven't decided if I'll train for a spring one, or start training in spring for the Baltimore one in October. Not sure I have the discipline to train that hard during the winter!

Sounds like an AWESOME race! I'm following a Runner's World half-marathon training plan myself. My longest run so far has been 8.5 miles. I bet you could run a half already! Way to go! :)
