EDC1972's Journal, 16 December 2015

I fell off the wagon big time last night. I was really craving sugar, and it must be because of my cheating this past weekend.

So I went to the store. I even walked so that I could try to talk myself our of my craving but it didn't work. I ate a ice cream snickers bar and a whole entire coffee cake! I wasn't even enjoying it at the end, I just wanted it gone.

I wasn't even really hungry! It may have been boredom.

Or because I was not prepared with snacks at home. I am going to make another stevia cheese cake (it turned out super good) so that I have that on hand.

Oh- I bought a bottle of Pinot Noir as well, but I only had a small glass of that.

I am going to rely on these thoughts to get me through the next attack of cravings. I will make sure I am always prepared, and I will tell myself that I am just bored, and I should take a walk instead!

Try to get some healthier snacks around so when you get the urge to nibble on something it won't necessarily be cake sunflower seeds sugar free jello pork rinds why use that because I used to have the big weakness for potato chips any type of substitution you can make that is better then falling completely off the wagon is only going to benefit you in the end but the one thing you cannot do is beat yourself up we didn't gain this weight in a day and we can't lose it in a day

That's happened to me more times than I can count over the years, it's almost like someone has remote control over your brain and there's nothing you can do to stop it. But really it's all in your control, you just have to take that control and not do it. I still get like that, heck, I got like that this afternoon around 1, here's what I did; I made a strong pot of coffee and drank a couple of cups. By the time I was through the second cup of coffee the urge to eat something not on my list had subsided. The big idea is to have something that IS on your plan available so that you don't have any reason to eat something that's NOT on your plan. Good luck, you can do it!

Hey, it happens. We all fall off the wagon and binge from time to time. Keep a variety of snacks on hand so you dont get bored with the ones you have. That was my problem, I got tired of the snacks I had around. I make sorbeys, yogurts, and low-cal cheesecakes because they freeze well. I also keep homemade granola and protein/energy bars as well. Saw a good recipe on Good Eats. I think the episode was called power trip. Google it or look it up on YouTube. Keep it up. You'll get there.
