Good morning buddies! Had a good weekend although my steps were less than adequate. I guess visiting with family isn't much of a calorie burner.
Started my Monday morning with a trip to the gym, woohoo. Now that the kiddos are in school I'm trying to get back into a routine. Almost have all of my steps in at it's not even noon.
Have to take my dog to the vet in a little bit. He has ripped some of his hair out above his tail, it looks rashy and scabby. Not sure what's going on but it's really bothering him. I've scraped up enough cash to take him in. I'm nervous, not because I'm worried about my pooch but because I'm worried about the bill. He is behind on a few vaccinations and they really have a way of making you feel like a piece of shit for it. Like immediately before I even made the appointment "Do you realize he is behind on some immunizations"? Seriously, there are people who don't vaccinate their children, stop trying to make me out to be an incompetent pet owner. I should tell them I think it would make him autistic... just for shits and giggles. He would have annual physicals and vaccinations if I could afford it, but ya know what... he's a dog. He lives indoors, he doesn't run wild amongst the forest critters and he is well cared for, he never wants for anything or misses a meal. I guess that's how they make their money, but it's also how they lose their clientele. I made an appointment with a new vet for this morning, and we will see how it goes. If their rabies vaccine is affordable then I just might get it. Worried about the cost of any testing they might want to do. I hate that it comes down to the money, but it does. If I didn't take that into consideration all of us, dog included, would be living in a van down by the river. Then they would call pet protective services on me for having a homeless un-vaccinated dog. *Sigh*
So, back to what this site is about... Dinner at my moms Saturday, not one delicious alcoholic drink passed this lady's lips. Nor any junky snacks, second servings or anything else that shouldn't have been there. Sunday I did have a slice of home made peach pie at grandmas, lets be rational here it had to be eaten. But the calories balanced out and all is well. Then I proceeded to go to McDonalds for promised ice cream cones for the kiddos and got not one single thing for myself. Holy willpower. Next week is going to be a beast with it being a holiday weekend, I figure I need to be an angel leading up to it.
Hell, if the vet costs enough I might be able to lose weight based on my inability to buy groceries. There's always a bright side.
Have a great day buddies!!
