Man, 148 lbs is one of those plateaus for me! I lost six pounds since my Arizona trip this summer, but since late July I've been stuck.

Any tips on what to do at a plateau? Should I try something desperate like fasting for a day on carrot juice or something? lol

BTW--Mohamed's World's Greatest Hummus from Wild Oats in Kansas City really is the best hummus -- I think it's a local product.

When I started FatSecret, my plateau was at exactly 146.6! I mean, that scale did NOT move whatsoever. I was at that weight for months before I found this website. I started the FatSmash diet, and amazingly it started to melt that weight away. I'm now on WW and sort of stuck again, but it is my fault entirely this time. My food choices have been horrible the last 2 weeks or so. I'm going to be more watchful of what I eat. Looking at your food diary, it seems pretty healthy! I wish I had some good advice for you. BTW, I love hummus! I could eat it every day. :-)

The juice fast would almost certainly break it (lots of sugar in carrots though). There are those who advocate a free day (eat whatever you want, as much as you want) as much as once a week as a remedy. I would recommend a low day (less than 500 calories) with some exercise. A plateau like that can be very discouraging so do your best.

I think I'm going to try a juice / veggies /fruits only day this week. We'll see how it goes. Today I'm going to try to keep it a little lower on the calorie intake and do some veggies and juice.
