My husband is driving me nuts harping about my cheap cell phone. We don't get service because we set low beside a river. I have a land line and all I use my cell phone for is emergencies, in the car when we go someplace. He thinks I should buy a better phone that takes pictures and uses wifi. I do all my computing at home at my desktop computer. I can text with the cheap phone and send emails plus I get triple minutes every time I load minutes and 90 days to used them up. Before I bought minutes and never used them up and had to buy more minutes every 30 days. This is a good deal for me. Anyway I am about to tell him if he wants a better phone go buy himself one and learn how to use it.

i dont know if u have the same service where you are,but i have comcast and i am able to use my phone,sounds like i have the same plan i used to get triple minutes lasting 90 days,thru tracfone. and i now use my home service. its comcast(ixfinity to go. i dont pay anything i can do incoming and outgoing calls and text and everything.u should look into it. i dont know if i have data with it or if im still using my accumulated data from tracfone
but now i pay nothing for my service

if it makes you feel any better. I dont even have cell phone, Did away with mine last year. i was a slave to "checking in" and talking while driving. Our city passes a law no talking or texting or none of that and since I work from home, i said "meh" who needs it. Im young (40) and all my friends cant believe it and ask how can I live with out it. every one else in my house as a cell so if there is an emergency i can use theirs. Its liberating to say the least.. My husband cant stand it and keeps threatening to buy me a new one, but until then imma enjoy my freedom!

Last year, I looked into getting a smart phone or a tablet, but bought another flip phone in stead. The extra expense and hassle didn't seem worth it. ;)

Got to agree with you, if you're happy with your phone and it does what you need it for you don't need anything else. I've just got a simple flip phone, can't even text with it which is fine with me, it does what I need it to and I rarely use it.

I have a tracfone pay as you go smart phone. $129 got me a decent phone and triple minutes/text/data for life and a years worth (for me) of minutes. I wanted to get a bunch of apps that only work on the android for running, etc and this worked perfectly.
It uses verizon towers I believe so coverage is great for me.
