RavenIllusion's Journal, 09 May 2015

This has been a week of expected weight gain, I was on a course of emotional eating that I just couldn't control. It was all due to my fibro, it is my only emotional eating trigger, copious amounts of pain tend to make me want all the things that I shouldn't eat. To be honest I should be bothered by the fact that I have gained so much weight this week, but I am not, I am no longer defining myself by the number on the scale, in fact I almost didn't weigh-in this week, but figured what the hell.
362.0 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 212.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
gaining 6.0 lb a week

Anti-inflammatory foods and exercise have been shown to help fibro. I have it mildly and haven't had a flare in well over a year. It's nice not to have the deep muscle pain this spring.

I'm with you girl. When I'm having pain from Fibro, I crave everything I shouldn't eat and it is definitely emotional eating couple with craving. The depression that goes along with the pain exacerbates my eating. Funny thing is, because I've been doing this for a little over a year, I still measure my portions and log every single one. Sweets are my downfall on and off the bus. Good luck to you, I hope you can get the pain under control so that you can get back on the wagon. It's all you can do. :)

Thank you all for your comments. As for what my doctor says it is a mix, my shrink says go to the beach, get out of the house, but he doesn't fully understand fibro and how it works. My primary doctor is just glad I understand that pain is a trigger and that I try to watch what I eat when I am flaring. I am usually better, but lately its been rough.

How morbid am I that I'm excited to see all of you have painful fibroids? I thought I was the only one feeling like my ovaries were being dragged across gravel! Having a hysterectomy next month because it's so bad. But don't cry for me Argentina -we have a 14 and 12 yr old daughters and tied my tubes about 6 years ago. You know what? I never noticed my excessive eating during the flare ups until you all mentioned it. Thought never crossed my mind. Thanks for sharing

I so believe she is talking about fibromyalgia, quite a bit different. Yours sounds painful as well. Sorry you are going through that.
