Caribbean Coconut Gelato for supper? Yep. Totally had the calories for it. Added a damaged cake cone -- it was missing a piece on the bottom, so it needed to be used for something. Added two clementines to the mix and talk about Y-U-M-M-Y! Hey, I had moved books, boxes (empty and filled), and walked back and forth for two hours and thirty minutes before eating it. It probably JUST balanced it out. LOL.

Missed the Ru last night -- went with the next best thing, sat on "his" sofa (which still smells like him....struggling to clean it. It's been just one week. Turned off all lights but a small lamp next to the TV. Played some ipad games, watched a little TV, and eventually fell asleep on Ru's sofa.

Remember the dog I said we were going to look at in 2 weeks? Still planning on it, but dog has planned meet/greet tomorrow. So the possibility of her not being available may be great. I really had to pray about how I was feeling. I was putting too much weight on this dog I've never met, but read description and seen photos and video of. It made me angry and frustrated when I would see comments and likes on FB about her. It's like the possessive - 'that dog is mine' - mentality, even though we haven't paid a dime for her. Desperation to fill a void...completely unrealistic. There is no way for us to drive 3 hours before next Saturday. We work. We're going to a concert and hiking (hopefully) if the weather holds this weekend. Next Saturday was the earliest time we would be available. I had to pray about it. And come to the same mentality I had when I volunteered at the pet shelter -- if the dog gets adopted, and it's not by me, I am happy for the dog. A loving home is so much better of a place to be than a shelter. Oh, I still have hope. And we still may go to the rescue organization to look....the real question is am I truly ready? Part of me says yes. Part of me just wants to go back to the way things were, before Ru had painful health issues.

While we're going back, let me go back to high school...when I thought I was fat!

When I started looking for a puppy I made my mind up to not be fussy, but to take one that truly needed a home. Ended up with a scruffy looking terrier mix. Well, he has our hearts already. DH said I could not have picked a better dog.
