adriannebryant's Journal, 12 March 2015

Yesterday was the first time back in the gym since November. That's right. I've been paying $20 a month for membership that I haven't been using. I won't bore you with reasons why I didn't go, I'm simply happy I went yesterday. The workout felt great.

Guess what F.S.? I'm going back again today. This time, hubby is going with me.

Happy Health Journey!!!

Good job! Going to gym on a regular basis will boost your weight loss progress a great deal!

Thanks XshapeshiftX. I'm hoping for just that. I've got 15lbs to lose prior to my 42nd birthday in June.

It is awesome to get your partner to go do activities with you. When my bf is with me I find myself working harder. I do the extra few pushups when he is with me that I otherwise wouldn't do. Have fun tonight!

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the support. But, I'm sad to say that hubby didn't go with me after all. He had a pretty tough day (works construction) so he was a bit sore/beaten down and wanted to rest. I still went and did 25 minutes on the treadmill and a few sets of crunches. I'll take a break today (my abs and legs are so sore) but will back at it tomorrow.

Its okay, I understand, my boyfriend works in construction too (he is an electrician) Took me 5 months to get him to sign up for the MMA gym. I find if I get him to go to bed early enough he doesn't seem to have a problem taking a class at the gym after work. So I am sure your hubby will go with you another time

Woah tell me how you did you convince your husband to go with you?? I need to get mine to work out with me. Have tried for 3 years. We have never been overly obese, but mostly out of shape. I really fluctuated with the birth of my two babies over the last three years, so I have always been getting baby weight off it seems. But even after 3 years, I still can't stress to him how important it is just to get up and move!

I might add that for me to get my BF to go to the gym, I had to find an activity he liked. He is the type that gets bored going to the gym, lifting weights, walking on a treadmill etc.. He likes activity (riding bikes, hiking, sports) which is why we both decided to go to an MMA gym and learn self defense as we workout. Try finding an activity that your hubby likes, weather its hiking, walking the dog, playing a sport. Maybe he isn't into the boring grind of an everyday gym.

Larry (husband) says he'll go with me on Saturday...we'll see about that. To alimarie19, I convinced him to go by saying if he loses those extra 15lbs, I'll buy two tickets to see a Washington Redskins game this fall. I'll let you know if he goes with me on Saturday. I'm hoping he'll go at least two days out the week to start and hopefully, he'll increase that by an additional day when he starts to feel good. @ Panigale1199, my hubby is an electrician too. Small world...huh? In any case, I'm not going to let his unwillingness to go slow me down. Happy Health Journey!!!

Really? Haha wow small world it is!!! When my BF says he is too tired to go workout I go without him. Keep doing your thing!! Don't let a man slow your roll :P

@Panigale1199, I most certainly won't. Men...can't live with them...can't exercise with them. :-)

Hey if they have a sauna at your gym and he's too pooped to workout, he could go and have a nice steam to relax.

@good2b150, we're with planet fitness. No sauna. But good idea.
